my husband has a fondness for the name Beckett these days. i don’t dislike it, but I’m a bit undecided if it fits in my overall naming style. (for example, it feels a bit more choppy than my favorite girls’ name, eleanor)
what do you think of when you hear a name like Beckett?
what are some other names in a similar style that come to mind?
I like [name_u]Beckett[/name_u]! But I like [name_m]Bennet[/name_m] a little more and think that flows a little better with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Both are cute though!
I think [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] is a good name, and I can definitely see [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] being siblings. For me, [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] is a name that changes how I feel about it depending on the context I guess? Meaning the potential sibling names, what the parents are like, etc. So as a standalone, I think I’m pretty neutral towards [name_u]Beckett[/name_u].

When my daughter was 3 she had a friend name [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] that she called Bucket because she couldn’t quite say it. So I always see Bucket now when I read it. It was really cute though so thats not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s still not my favorite name. I think if you shorten it to just [name_u]Beck[/name_u], that actually pairs better with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]!
Some other similar names that might fit both your styles…
I think it’s some kind of cross between old-fashioned elegance and rugged cowboy. I like it! And I could easily see it being a brother to an [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. It’s rare that parents have the exact same style for both boy and girl names. They usually complement each other, but don’t match each other. [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are a great example of this.
[name_u]Beckett[/name_u] is pretty cool with a lovely meaning I could see [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] together, but maybe [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] would feel more cohesive and less choppy?
