Wow. We have the same exact tastevin names ! I love flora and would use it myselfbbuybscarrd that she might get the nn flo. I’m gonna think aboutbit though. The only name on my list right now is [name]Tessa[/name] nn [name]Tess[/name]. It fits everything u listed. Not sure if I love y but u might! There is also gemma. Its so hard right??
I love [name]Flora[/name]! What about [name]Fern[/name]? It gives kind of the same feeling and is nickname proof. It also ties in great to [name]Charlotte[/name]'s [name]Web[/name] and every little girl loves that book.
[name]Hope[/name] one of these is your taste!
I like [name]Flora[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]. That spelling of [name]Scarlett[/name] is by far the classiest to me, but I still am not totally sold on it. [name]Flora[/name] is beautiful. 10/10 there.
Thought I’d suggest one of my daughter’s names just in case: [name]Clover[/name] seems the same feel of [name]Flora[/name] to me. [name]Just[/name] a little more/too unusual maybe?
Good luck!
Oh, some great suggestions so far! Would like to second [name]Fern[/name], [name]Olive[/name], [name]Tessa[/name]/[name]Tess[/name] and [name]Nina[/name].
I love [name]Flora[/name] as well, and I’m a big fan of [name]Scarlett[/name] but for some reason I don’t love the combo…
Other options:
[name]Vita[/name]
[name]Freya[/name] (if you’re in the UK, this is probably too popular)
[name]Alba[/name]
[name]Leta[/name] or [name]Leda[/name]
[name]Elsa[/name]
[name]Ona[/name] or [name]Una[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] or [name]Nona[/name]
[name]Lorna[/name]
[name]Alma[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Carine[/name]
[name]Pia[/name]
[name]Ida[/name]
[name]Selma[/name]
Venna
[name]Willa[/name]
Thanks everyone! A lot of what y’all suggested is on my list already.
@poptart: I do like [name]Fern[/name], but it’s heavily associated with someone I knew, Fernie. Thank you though
@paddymo1985: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Clover[/name]! I’m afraid I’m not brave enough to use it, though. What are people’s first reactions to your daughter’s name? And if you don’t mind my asking, where do you live? Because I think [name]Clover[/name] would be “the norm” in, say, the UK, but would be considered strange in the US.
And I came up with a new mn for [name]Flora[/name] today! [name]Flora[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]? Hmmm… I’m not really diggin’ [name]Scarlett[/name] anymore 'cause a) I think it’s too word-y with [name]Flora[/name] and b) It doesn’t really “balance” the combo. Almost like [name]Scarlett[/name] is too soft with [name]Flora[/name].
I think [name]Beatrix[/name] gives [name]Flora[/name] the balance I’m looking for.
WDYT? [name]Flora[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]? [name]Flora[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Grace[/name] for a double mn?
Yes I am in the UK! But nooooo it is still very very unusual.
The telegraph is not representative. We are a country of little Ellas and Sophies and Mias and Lilys at the moment. I get good reactions. Helps that she is a very spunky little girl probably. She pulls it off.
Most people think her name is fun, and some have said beautiful. Obviously there are going to be people who think its a ‘frivolous’ name but really, I think distinctive names can be something to be proud of.
ANYWAY I digress.
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]. I like it! Nice flow, definitely two names I would never have thought of putting together. But it gives [name]Flora[/name] a less soft edge, certainly. And I mean that as a good thing. Very vintage chic too, as you say is your style.
I think [name]Beatrix[/name] is leaping up the name lists but as I said, I am in the UK which is a whole different story. The X at the end gives the name a really good balance in my book. To sum= [name]LOVE[/name]
Out of interest, have you got any other name ideas orbiting at the moment? Or is [name]Flora[/name] looking like ‘the one’?
@paddymo1985: Thank you! Hehe. I won’t be having kids for a long, long time - so hopefully [name]Clover[/name] won’t be too unusual by then, because I really do love it And [name]Flora[/name] is feeling like “the one”. I have been thinking about [name]Romy[/name] a lot - strange, 'cause it’s so different from my usual style. Also, my all-time favorites: [name]Violet[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Lila[/name], [name]Stella[/name]. Sadly, those are all popular here.
@isaberry: Thank you! [name]Clara[/name], [name]Vera[/name], [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name] are on my list.
