I need help! We are having a baby boy in [name_f]September[/name_f] and I’m having such a hard time finding a name I love. The only one that I love so far is [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and I just can’t let go of the name. The problem with it is, it sounds awful with our last name which also ends is “er” and my husband doesn’t really care for it either. Does anyone have suggestions of names that are a similar style but don’t end in “er”. I would also like it to go well with our daughter’s name, [name_f]Layla[/name_f].

What is it you like about [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]? Is it the [name_m]Tom[/name_m] reference? If so, then I would suggest [name_u]Finn[/name_u] or Huckelberry/[name_m]Huck[/name_m]. We have the same issue with our last name ending in -er and one of our favorite names ending in -er. In the end, we decided it didn’t bother us enough not to use it so we are naming one of our twins [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] (which I think is similar to [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]). Also, are you thinking [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] for a girl or boy? If girl, then I think [name_f]Harlow/name_f is also similar without the -er ending.

I like the suggestions of [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m].

I’d also add [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Samson[/name_m].

Or maybe [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] or [name_m]Quentin[/name_m].

[name_m]Pierce[/name_m] or [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]/[name_u]Reese[/name_u] might be good options as well.

A little more unusual would be [name_u]Spruce[/name_u] or [name_m]Cyprus[/name_m].
