Names like [name_u]Axel[/name_u] with meaning my father is peace or [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] meaning my father’s joy…this type of thing.
Having trouble finding names I like that would honor my dad…so looking at names that may mean something about father or my father etc.
A little about my dad - he was a [name_u]Jack[/name_u] of all trades…a pastor…and always making jokes and keeping us laughing. His name started with an R.
Maybe:

The Hebrew root ‘av’ or ‘ab’ means father and is found in many Biblical names – but if you don’t find anything you like, you could choose an unrelated name with these sounds and I think the connection would still work. Especially with a nickname like [name_u]Avi[/name_u] or Abi/Abbie/Abby. [name_u]Or[/name_u] something like [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], [name_m]Junior[/name_m], etc could work.
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m], [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f], [name_f]Apolline[/name_f] – possibly “father lion” or “father light”
[name_m]Edsel[/name_m] – from [name_m]Attila[/name_m], meaning “little father”

I’ll also throw in [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] meaning “he will laugh, he will rejoice”, which might be a nice reference to your father’s sense of humor!
[name_m]Fitz[/name_m] is my favourite you can add it before your father’s name ie [name_m]Fitzroy[/name_m] it means son of or just leave it as [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] which a is zippy first name with a subtle nod to your dad.
This would also work with Mac/Mc names or names ending in son.
