Are you looking for feedback on names? Or more suggestions?
I’ll offer feedback.
The girls names are all over the place. I split them into categories.
Names that are dated: (With the exception of [name]Paula[/name], this sounds like my graduating class. I’m in my mid-20s. [name]Paula[/name] is from the generation before.)
[name]Alison[/name]
[name]Holly[/name]
[name]Jessica[/name]
[name]Paula[/name]
[name]Caitlin[/name]
Names that are currently very popular:
[name]Eva[/name]
[name]Madison[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
Place names that are way too trendy (these will definitely sound dated in 10 years):
[name]Paris[/name]
[name]London[/name]
Classic/old fashioned names:
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Kathryn[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Opal[/name]
Nickname names:
[name]Katy[/name]
[name]Cassie[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
Made-up sounding names:
Annalette
Shailene
Foreign/Other:
[name]Fiona[/name]
Iriss (Was this a typo? I would stick to the [name]Iris[/name] spelling.)
[name]Bridgette[/name] (I prefer the spelling [name]Bridget[/name], although I know that the -ette spelling is legit.)
It’s really hard to give an opinion because I have no idea what your friend is going for with a list this eclectic.
I would recommend avoiding the “Trendy place-name” category and the “Very popular names” as well as the “Dated names” and the “Made up sounding names.”
I would recommend using full names to achieve the nicknames they like rather than just giving a nickname as a full name. [name]Molly[/name] is one exception to that.
So I guess that leaves:
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]*
[name]Kathryn[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Opal[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]*
[name]Iris[/name]*
[name]Bridgette[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
*= my personal favorites.
I’ll just give play-by-play feedback on the boy’s names:
For the most part I love full classic names and not the nicknames that go with them. That’s just my own personal preference!
[name]Elijah[/name]- [name]Eli[/name] – very cute! I love both the full name and the nn. My favorite from her list!
[name]Mitchell[/name]- [name]Mitch[/name] – okay.
[name]Peter[/name]- [name]Pete[/name] – Classic name, but I don’t like [name]Pete[/name].
[name]Robert[/name]- [name]Rob[/name] or robbie – Not a fan of the nns.
[name]Jonathan[/name]-[name]Jon[/name] – Beautiful classic name, both full and nn.
[name]Tyler[/name]- [name]Ty[/name] – Dated.
[name]Tyson[/name]- [name]Ty[/name] – Trendy.
[name]Jim[/name]- [name]Jimmy[/name] – I would go with [name]James[/name] as a full name to get [name]Jim[/name] or [name]Jimmy[/name].
[name]Jayson[/name]- [name]Jay[/name] – Trendy.
[name]Kenneth[/name] - [name]Kenny[/name] or [name]Ken[/name] – Classic name.
[name]Kenneth[/name] [name]Cole[/name]- K.C. – Isn’t that a clothing brand? I absolutely hate initials as nns. That’s my own personal opinion though.
[name]Michael[/name]- [name]Mike[/name] – Classic and beautiful, both full and nn.
Whew! [name]Hope[/name] I gave you something of what you were looking for!
Good luck to your friend!
