Looking for girl names with a similar sound to:
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
Short, and with an ‘i’ sound at the end like the above names.
I am on the hunt for a girl sibling name to my daughter [name]Zara[/name], and love all of the names I have mentioned, but we have vetoed them for different reasons.
Personally I think [name]Ivy[/name] is an amazing match for [name]Zara[/name]. I love the suggestions of:
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Zelie[/name] (even despite the matchiness)
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Delphy[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Naomi[/name]
I think you definitely need something spunky to match [name]Zara[/name]. My suggestions:

I agree about [name]Ivy[/name], it’s one of my faves, but [name]Zara[/name]'s best friend is named [name]Ivy[/name], so we immediately ruled it out. What are your thoughts on using a friend’s name?
My other faves are
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Matea[/name]
Oh, genevie got some of my favorites: [name]Mamie[/name], [name]Sosie[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], and [name]Daphne[/name]. I think I would probably rule out the names of friends, too.
I like [name]Matea[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] with [name]Zara[/name].
Weirdly enough, I was actually thinking about this earlier! I think it would depend on several factors, including age (a young child can lose touch with a best friend easily, whereas an old child is more likely to keep their best friend around for the long haul), the parents relationship with said best friend (i.e. it’s more of a problem if you have the kid over all the time than if you’ve only seen them talking to your child in the playground), the area you live in (two Ivys in a small town might stick out like a sore thumb, but in a big city no one will notice), and the opinion of the child whose friend it actually is. Really, I think if you have an older child whose best friend is a close family friend and that child spends a lot of time with you and your family, then it’s probably wise to avoid it. If not, I don’t see why it should completely stop you from using the name - after all, if you’d named your daughter before the best friend came along, you wouldn’t change your daughter’s name just to avoid confusion!
[name]Iris[/name], [name]Eden[/name], and [name]Isla[/name] give me the same feeling as [name]Ivy[/name]. I really love [name]Zara[/name] and [name]Iris[/name].
Unless the name [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is really important to you, just rule it out - it’s not very fair on [name_f]Zara[/name_f] for her sister to have the same name as her best friend. There are plenty of other names you can choose from.
