Good evening (at least from where I am)! I’m thrilled to find a place to chat about names… I’m only a few months along with my third, but I’m already searching for that “perfect” name :). I have two daughters, [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. I don’t really have any names I absolutely love yet and I’m hoping to get some of your thoughts…
For my first two, my hubby and I went with more whimsical/sunny sounding first names and more refined/classic middles (the middles are also family names). The only ideas I have are [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Helene[/name] for a girl and [name]Harry[/name] [name]Augustin[/name] or [name]Fred[/name] (no middle ideas yet) for boy.
I really like [name]Fred[/name], and I like [name]Harry[/name] also, but I actually know a [name]Harry[/name] who was kind of gross/hairy so I have negative associations with the name which worries me. I don’t want to always look at my kid and see the other [name]Harry[/name] if you know what I mean…
Anyway, what do you think of these names? [name]Do[/name] they work well with my daughter’s names? Any other suggestions would be awesome!
[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry! [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] are darling names. I think [name]Eloise[/name] would sound fantastic with your girls’ names ([name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]!), and [name]Harry[/name] is cute, too.
And some new ones:

[name]Jonah[/name]
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Enzo[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name] sounds great with [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name]! I like [name]Fred[/name] and [name]Harry[/name] with the girls’ names too. Like many people on this site, my first inclination is always to give formal names that can be shortened to a nickname so the child has more options.
Since both [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] are Greek names, I came up with a list of other zippy Greek names (or at least I think they sound zippy!). Some have already been mentioned. Nameberry has hundreds of other Greek names that might also strike your fancy.
I love the mixture of “sunny names” with classic ones that have family meaning! Maybe you could go with another Greek name, as [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] both have Greek roots? That being said, [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Henry[/name] are lovely choices as well!
If you wanted to go in the Greek direction, I think names that have fully been integrated into American society would be better than very obscure Greek names, like, um… [name]Achilles[/name], for example.

[name]Eleni[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] nn [name]Cate[/name], [name]Cassie[/name]
[name]Calandra[/name] nn [name]Callie[/name]

And this name isn’t Greek, but it is so cute: [name]Laszlo[/name]! [name]Laszlo[/name] is Hungarian. Sounds incredible with [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name]. I also love [name]Harry[/name] as a nn for [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Fred[/name] as a nn for [name]Frederick[/name].
