Names Similar to William?

Not pregnant, just collecting names.

I’ve been thinking of honoring my grandpa somehow. I don’t know if I want to use [name_m]William[/name_m] itself though. I love the name, but there are several other [name_m]William[/name_m]'s in my family. I wanna look at other options for both genders besides [name_m]Wilhelm[/name_m] and [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] (which I love too). Either as a first or middle name, but most likely a middle. It doesn’t specifically have to be a form of [name_m]William[/name_m]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a similar name is fine.

Please don’t suggest [name_f]Willa[/name_f] or [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (or [name_u]Billie[/name_u]!) for girls or [name_m]Willard[/name_m] or [name_m]Liam[/name_m] for a boy. I don’t care for them.

[name_m]Wilbur[/name_m]
Wilcox
Wilde/[name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
[name_m]Wiley[/name_m]
[name_m]Wilfred[/name_m]
[name_m]Willard[/name_m]
[name_u]Willoughby[/name_u]
[name_m]Wilson[/name_m]

[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Wilma[/name_f]

According to Nameberry, [name_m]Quilliam[/name_m] means “son of [name_m]William[/name_m],” so maybe [name_m]Quill[/name_m] or [name_m]Quillan[/name_m]?

I also like Wilky/[name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] (a la [name_m]Wilkie[/name_m] [name_u]Collins[/name_u]).

[name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] is a bit different from the original—and there’s the Mr. [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] connection

For a girl, maybe Willamette?

[name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] and Wilde could work for either gender.
