I’m starting to see a theme with the names that I gravitate toward… they’re from all different languages/cultures, popular or not, ancient and new. Yet all of them conjure a sense of ‘calm’ to them.
So I’m interested to know, what names or sounds within names give you this same feeling? It could just be a vowel or consonant that triggers this reaction, an association with the name, or the sound of the name in its entirety. Very open-ended, just whatever comes to mind for you!
Of course, this is totally subjective but here goes:
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Amabel[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Amaryllis[/name]
[name]Odessa[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name]
[name]Lark[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Thora[/name]
Also, completely agree with suggestions [name]Paloma[/name] and [name]Celeste[/name]!
It’s one of my favourites, too. Very soft name, and it’s a palindrome, which is always cool. Better than [name]Ava[/name], which (for me) has become a PLAINdrome. Though I still like [name]Ava[/name].
More to add to peaceful boys names:
[name]Floyd[/name]
[name]Lloyd[/name]
[name]Lake[/name]
[name]Fabian[/name]
[name]Florian[/name]
When I was picking my son’s name last summer I realized that I liked [name]Henry[/name] because when I said the name it made me want to smile. Since dh didn’t care for it. I tested other names looking for another that left me with a smile on my face – [name]James[/name] did the trick and hubby liked it.
I also think that when I find a good first name-middle name combo the name “sings”. If I don’t have a middle name to pair with a first name then I’m not sure I really like the first name.
