I don’t know why this randomly occurred to me, but I think it’s funny/interesting that just one letter can make all the difference in whether a name is considered cute and trendy or not.
Example: [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is cute and trendy. [name_m]Add[/name_m] an “m” and you get [name_f]Norma[/name_f], which is not so popular. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is very popular. Throw a “B” on the front and you get [name_u]Beverly[/name_u], which is not so much. I have to think there are other cases like this for both boy and girl names.
[name_m]Can[/name_m] anyone think of other examples like this??
A few trendy/popular vs. not-so-popular I can think of…
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] vs [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] vs [name_m]Alvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Will[/name_m] vs [name_m]Bill[/name_m]
These are all based on personal experience, some of the names I consider dated might be considered fresh vintage picks to others.

[name_f]Lauren[/name_f] is dated, [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] is fresh
