Names that end with the same letter the last name starts with?

I wasn’t sure of a better way to phrase it.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it matters much if a first name ends with the same letter or sound that the last name starts with?
Asking because I really love the name [name_u]Reese[/name_u] for a boy, but the last name starts with an S (two syllables), and I’m not sure if that should be a deterrent.

Opinions on this, or the idea in general? Thank you in advance!

It’s really a case by case basis. For example, [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Simpson[/name_m] sounds clearer than [name_u]Reese[/name_u] [name_m]Smith[/name_m].

I’d prefer to avoid giving a child a name ending in a letter that the last name starts with if I could personally, but I don’t think it’s the naming worst incident that can happen when naming a child.
