Names That Heal 🕊

Hello, berries. I hope you’re all doing as well as possible with the news today. I won’t make this too long, as I feel like I don’t have too much to say…

I’ve recently begun to really fall in love with the idea of using a name that means “healed, healing, bringing healing, healer, etc.” It creates such an incredibly warm feeling for the names, and holds a bit of personal significance to me too.

Both boy and girl suggestions are very welcome, so far I have: [name_f]Althea[/name_f], [name_m]Asa[/name_m], [name_m]Galen[/name_m], and [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. Meanings a bit more unrelated to healing can work too (I love the peaceful/calm ones), but having healing directly in the meaning is extra special.

Thank you all in advance, I look forward to reading your thoughts :dove:

[name_f]Altha[/name_f]:

Summary

Similar to [name_f]Althea[/name_f], but a bit more clunky? I first heard of her in a book- that [name_f]Altha[/name_f] was an ancient ancestor of the main character, a healer with a slightly magical connection to nature who was put on trial for witchcraft. She was a very empowered woman and her name was described as being “soft yet powerful, like an incantation.” It’s always stuck with me!!

[name_f]Brigid[/name_f]: The [name_m]Irish[/name_m] goddess with connections to healing powers.

[name_f]Meredith[/name_f]: Meaning “great ruler” or “healer.”

[name_f]Florence[/name_f]: for [name_f]Florence[/name_f] Nightengale!

[name_f]Vida[/name_f]: Meaning “life” in Spanish

[name_f]Elpis[/name_f]: meaning “hope” and associated with spiritual healing

Also brainstorming flowers that connect to healing…. (Could be used as names)

[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]: The spiritual meaning of the flower connects to purity and healing, and it has nice imagery

[name_f]Chamomile[/name_f]: Symbolizing rest, peace, and calmness

[name_m]Yarrow[/name_m]: symbolizing healing and love

Calandula: Often used in healing balms ( including my favourite skin cream haha)

Jemina, [name_f]Doveva[/name_f], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], and [name_m]Callum[/name_m], have connections to doves—> peace. For a more direct peaceful meaning, in thinking [name_f]Eirene[/name_f], [name_f]Fenna[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f], [name_f]Inga[/name_f], [name_f]Irina[/name_f], [name_m]Miro[/name_m], Paz/Paz, [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (symbolizing peace), [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
