Which combinations make you smile? The names that are not ‘out there’ but still have something distinctive about them; a quirky middle name or a pretty meaning?

The reason I say this is because I have not been actively posting on the forum for a while. I have been struggling with depression and it suddenly got worse after an period of physical illness. I think it would be nice to have a thread of names that seem ordinary but still have something magical–> A bit like smiling at a flower somewhere unexpected.

[name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], I don’t even know why. The first time I saw it I smiled and I have smiled every time since :slight_smile:

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! The name [name_f]Keara[/name_f] always makes me smile. It’s my sister’s name, and its pronounced like [name_f]Keira[/name_f], [name_f]Kira[/name_f], [name_f]Kyra[/name_f], any of those variations. Whenever I see the name [name_f]Keara[/name_f], I always think of the word “heart” because it has the same middle letters. This is probably just becase its my sister’s name, but I adore it.

[name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] Madelief make me smile. I think they’re distinctive without being showy. (And they’re pretty cute.)

I’d like to second [name_u]Max[/name_u]. It’s my brother’s name, and he always makes me laugh.

[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Dante[/name_m] will always make me smile because with the meanings together its laughter enduring.
Another one that will always put a smile on my face is [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]. I picture soft feathery blonde hair and the summer sun on your face.

For me, it’s [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. The meaning is so gorgeous, and I love the “[name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables” connection.

While reading today’s blog post about everyone’s Top 5 Girls’ names, I came across someone else who listed [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] as a favourite. That [name_u]Berry[/name_u] suggested “[name_f]Dilly[/name_f]” as a nn. I had never before considered [name_f]Dilly[/name_f], and picturing it on a little girl definitely made me smile.

[name_m]Edwin[/name_m] is a boys’ name that always makes me happy. I can’t pin down why, I just love [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] :slight_smile:

[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-I don’t know why, they make me smile. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is so mysterious, and [name_f]Ava[/name_f], I quite frankly don’t know.

Thank you everyone for you lovely names. [name_f]Dilly[/name_f] is such a cute nickname for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! I am not a fan of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] but [name_f]Dilly[/name_f] is adorable.
