My future child will be Afro-Mexican (American) and I would love to devour a list of names that sound great in both English in Spanish. We won’t be TTC until [name]March[/name], so I have some time to stew in names. The number one name that the father loves is [name]Juliana[/name] because it is a combination of our names ([name]Julio[/name] & [name]Alana[/name]), plus it sounds delightful in both the English and Spanish language.
Any similar names you fancy that can be pronounced nicely in both languages?

[name]Nicolas[/name]

[name]Roberto[/name]
I wish I could suggest more boys’ names but I only have daughters!
All lovely suggestions. YBP: I really love the older female names! We are also considering [name]Delores[/name] for a girl, after my grandmother. I suppose the proper spelling in Spanish would be [name]Dolores[/name], but I haven’t been able to wrap my head around that D-O spelling.
[name]Do[/name] they have to be spelled the same? Most traditional names have a Spanish version the family could use. E.g.:
[name]Anthony[/name]-[name]Antonio[/name]
[name]Michael[/name]-[name]Miguel[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]-[name]Enrique[/name]
[name]James[/name]-[name]Jaime[/name]
[name]George[/name]-[name]Jorge[/name]
[name]Peter[/name]-[name]Pedro[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]-[name]Luis[/name]
For boys how about [name]Adrian[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], or [name]Sebastian[/name] (some of my favorites that work well in both languages, as well as several others). I don’t have any ideas for girls that haven’t already been mentioned, but my vote would go to [name]Laura[/name] or [name]Veronica[/name] (ditto what I said about the boys’ names).
if you are having trouble, could you look at names that have a Spanish version?
Like I know a girl who is half Spanish, and her name is [name]Juliet[/name], but her entire Spanish family calls her Juiletta. It sounds a little confusing, but she doesn’t seem to mind it.
I’m also looking for a Spanish-English compatible name because my husband is Spanish and we live in Spain. You have lots of beautiful girl suggestions, ([name]LOVE[/name] [name]Juliana[/name]) but I would add [name]Sonia[/name], [name]Sofia[/name], [name]Sara[/name], [name]Laura[/name], [name]Carolina[/name], [name]Gabriela[/name], [name]Daniela[/name], [name]Isabel[/name]… there are so many for girls.
There are less for boys, which is what I need! But here are a few more you could consider:
[name]Gabriel[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Mateo[/name], [name]Andres[/name], [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Adrian[/name], [name]Roberto[/name], [name]Maximo[/name]… they have easy American type nick-names to go with them, or:
[name]Santiago[/name], [name]Diego[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], … are more Spanish but are still easy on the English ear.
Good luck and I’ll be watching your list for ideas for my boy!
