Names that sound like law firms

I’d describe my taste in boys’ full names as the more it sounds like a law firm, the better…a.k.a. surname for a first name. I have a few meaningful family names that might work for son-to-be:

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u]: top choice so far. My only concern is is this going to go the way of [name_m]Braxton[/name_m] and [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] and other -tons? Or just under the radar/different enough?

Hetherington: Too much for a person? Perhaps nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]

Heston: weird sound? I’m too close to the name to be objective.

Thanks!

I like [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] a lot! Heston is interesting too and I think it could work

Some others
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Dalton[/name_m]
[name_m]Truman[/name_m]
Hareton
[name_m]Everard[/name_m]
[name_m]Whittaker[/name_m]
[name_m]Acton[/name_m]
[name_m]Benton[/name_m]
[name_u]Ellison[/name_u]
[name_m]Edison[/name_m]
[name_m]Langston[/name_m]

I don’t see [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] ever being the next [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]. Though it’s more familiar than it was 20 years ago I think it’ll remain relatively uncommon.
I think Hetherington is a bit much to be honest.
I think Heston can certainly work for a first name though. When I hear it I think [name_m]Charlton[/name_m] Heston so make sure that’s an association you’re okay with. But I think it’s a nice souund and fits in nicely with other surnames as first names but stands out too.
Other ideas:
[name_m]Darwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Booker[/name_m]
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u]
[name_u]Murphy[/name_u]
[name_m]Wilson[/name_m]
[name_u]Connolly[/name_u]
Jemison

If the names on your list are meaningful though, I’d stick with one of those.
Good luck.

Of the 3 you suggested, I love Heston. It’s handsome, strong, unusual yet easy to pronounce. It has the nickname “Hes”, which rolls off the tongue easily. If it has family meaning to you all the better.

Hetherington is too much of a tongue twister, and “[name_f]Hether[/name_f]” is too close to “[name_f]Heather[/name_f]” which is usually a girl’s name. [name_u]Leighton[/name_u] is ok, but the nickname “[name_u]Leigh[/name_u]” is not nearly as nice as “Hes”. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if you don’t plan to use a nickname other family members or your son’s future classmates may well do so.

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] - While this one does feel a bit trendy to me, I don’t think this will ever go the way of [name_u]Peyton[/name_u] in popularity. Of your three options, this is the one I would choose.

Hetherington - The nickname [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is adorable, but there are other ways to get there. I think Hetherington is a bit too much, skewing from preppy upper-class surname into pretentious territory.

Heston - I like the -ton ending but the Hes- part seems insubstantial.

Liking PP’s suggestions of [name_m]Booker[/name_m], [name_m]Whittaker[/name_m], and [name_m]Langston[/name_m] for you!

[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] ~ I know a fair few Leightons/Laytons, but I’m in the UK. I’m not a fan personally, it seems quite feminine to me.

Hetherington ~ I definitely think this is cool for a middle name!

Heston ~ Reminds me of Heston Blumenthal, who is a British celebrity chef. His middle name is [name_m]Marc[/name_m]. I don’t find the name weird because I obviously know of the chef.
