Hi all! We’ve been gathering some choices for names that work in both English and Korean. Do names ending in o feel super tired in the US? It’s a common style choice for boys in Korea. Big sister’s name is M!ra but I’m not super fussed about the sib names fitting together. Let me know your thoughts!
Kian
Rian
Gio
Hugo
Leo
Teo
Rhys
Tobin
Nice selection!
[name_m]Kian[/name_m] is charming, [name_m]Tobin[/name_m] is cool, [name_m]Rhys[/name_m] feels rugged with a gentle sound, [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is lovely, and [name_f]Gio[/name_f] is fresh and interesting.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is good too but popular

I’m in the UK so can’t comment on how it feels from experience, but in case this helps:
Only 19 names, in the current top 250 for boys in the US, end in the O sound; that’s just 7.6%
It may feel more common with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] at number 10 spawning children nicknamed [name_m]Theo[/name_m], etc?
Because I had some time on my hands
Here are the most common ending sounds (in the top 250) in descending order:
Disclaimer - bound to have miscounted a couple
N sounds: 73 (29.2%)
S sounds including X: 30 (12%)
er or R sounds: 29 (11.6%)
O: 19 (7.6%)
L sounds: 18 (7.2%)
T sounds 16 (6.4%)
Ee sounds/Y: 15 (6%)
A/ah: 13 (5.2%)
CK sounds: 9 (3.6%)
Remainder were endings like M & D, each under 3%

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite from your list is [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but any of them would work well.
I know a Korean family whose son is named [name_m]Robin[/name_m] - his mum explained to me why it works in Korean, but I can’t exactly remember. I really like it as a Korean/English choice.
M!ra is beautiful! All your options are great; I especially love [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Rhys[/name_m], and [name_m]Tobin[/name_m], but I think [name_f]Gio[/name_f], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Rhys[/name_m], and [name_m]Tobin[/name_m] are my favorites with your daughter’s name. I think [name_m]Rhys[/name_m] is my very favorite - M!ra and [name_m]Rhys[/name_m] are just so great together!
Good luck!
