Names that work in Spanish and English

In a year or two, I may be moving to a city with a large Latino population for my job. If the move happens I plan on staying there for a while, and I’m thinking of starting a family fairly soon. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if the move doesn’t happen, I still think that my kids having a name that works well in both Spanish and English is a good idea.

I would like if the name sounds almost, if not exactly, the same in both languages. I work with many Spanish speakers that don’t speak much English and when I introduce myself, I always have to repeat myself multiple times, and sometimes I have to even write my name out for them to understand what I’m saying. My name is a pretty common Hispanic surname that (to my knowledge) is also used quite frequently as a first name, but they say it a little differently than those who speak English as a first language do. It’s a little irritating to be constantly be doing this, so if it was pronounced the same in both languages it would make it easier.

It would be nice if the name wasn’t too high in popularity, but I’ve been having trouble finding anything that works lower in popularity. It’s not a huge deal if it’s more common, I guess.

Names I like that I think work are [name_u]Nico[/name_u], [name_u]Toby[/name_u], and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (though it’s not pronounced the same). Any other ideas? I’m finding boys names much harder than girls.

[name_m]Rafael[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] came to mind. And I really like [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_u]Nico[/name_u] and [name_u]Toby[/name_u]…

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_u]Toby[/name_u] are great!!

[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Bruno[/name_m], [name_m]Luis[/name_m], [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] maybe?

I like [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_u]Nico[/name_u], and [name_u]Toby[/name_u] as well. No name is going to be pronounced exactly the same, but those are pretty similar and short and sweet.
(sorry for the repeats)

My daughter’s name is [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] which works in both and is pronounced the same. [name_f]Esme[/name_f] or [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] would also be beautiful for a daughter.

Ooh I like [name_m]Joaquin[/name_m]. [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], and [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] are beautiful.
