[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
As I’m going off to college next year, I decided to begin this new chapter in my life with a name change. [name_f]My[/name_f] surname is Key, and I’m looking for a name beginning with K, as name alliterations just seem a lot more memorable to me. I’m not set on this yet, so I’m still open to other letters as well!
I like unique yet not too fussy names. Currently I’m considering [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] and [name_f]Keira[/name_f], but I feel like they might clash with my last name ([name_f]Kylie[/name_f] Key? [name_f]Keira[/name_f] Key?) and they’re quite common. I also really like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] (my friends disagreed with that name though) and [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. A more unique name would be a lot nicer, but I can’t seem to find any. Oh and I really like the name [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] too!
Thanks for all your help!
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] & [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] Key are beautiful & work well. [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] lends itself to nicknames but is also a bit formal/profession which might be nice post-college.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you want it to link/relate to your current name at all?
[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] Key

Key reminds me of Irish names. What about…
[name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Fionnuala[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Ireland[/name_f] Key

[name_f]Niamh[/name_f] Key
[name_u]Reagan[/name_u] Key
[name_f]Siobhan[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Taryn[/name_f] Key
[name_u]Tierney[/name_u] Key
Oh & Maeva Key?
I like [name_f]Taryn[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], and [name_f]Mira[/name_f] from that list. [name_f]Lena[/name_f] is another name I really like! I’m not planning on relating to my current name, though I think shorter names (e.g. around 2 syllables) are probably more suitable for me.
I really like [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] & [name_f]Keira[/name_f]! I don’t think [name_f]Keira[/name_f] clashes with Key at all - I think that’s just how alliteration works Mind you, they both start with Ke - do you want a name that doesn’t start with that e sound? [name_m]How[/name_m] about names that start with C but have that harsh K sound? [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] Key? [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u]? [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] Key? ([name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] is pronounced Kwee-va). [name_f]Katalina[/name_f]? [name_f]Carlotta[/name_f]? [name_f]Katrina[/name_f]? [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_f]Carly[/name_f]? [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Katie[/name_f] is cool. [name_f]Kaleigh[/name_f] ([name_u]Cal[/name_u]-lee). [name_f]Kaylie[/name_f]. It’s probably best to find a name that doesn’t end in the “ee” sound, as that will sound to rhyme-y with your last name.
I’m going to university next year too!
Some other ideas:
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u] Key
[name_f]Brynna[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] Key
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] Key
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] waverly123! nice to see lots of college-aged people on nameberry haha. It’s funny I was actually so close to changing my name to [name_f]Isla[/name_f], but backed last minute. I also really like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Katalina[/name_f]. Hmm so far I feel like [name_f]Keira[/name_f] might be the most likely one.
They’re all really nice names! Wait for a few more months before deciding! Let the names sit with you, maybe in a month’s time you’ll be like, “[name_f]Keira[/name_f] is definitely me” or “[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is definitely not for me.” I think there are lots of people our age on nameberry, most are just pretty shy about it
On second though, I really like the name [name_m]Kasper[/name_m] too. Any thoughts on that? [name_f]Keira[/name_f] might be a little too common, and I just love the “sp” sound, despite the fact that it’s a boy’s name.
