I’m starting my third pregnancy. My two older children have definitely literary names - [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] with middle names matching our origins: [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Leif[/name_m]. I don’t know if I want to give my third child an other literary name or just a name to go with my daughter’s and son’s names. Please drop your suggestions!
OK, first of all… your kids’ names are freaking amazing! I love them!! [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Leif[/name_m] are gorgeous and it will be hard to top them!
I think the literary theme is a great one; I would continue it. It’s subtle enough to link them without being obvious and obnoxious.
Suggestions for literary names:
Boys:
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] (TKAM)
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] (Bierce, author)

[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (Idylls of the [name_m]King[/name_m], [name_m]Alfred[/name_m], [name_m]Lord[/name_m] [name_m]Tennyson[/name_m]) (He spelled it [name_u]Vivien[/name_u], but it’s totally better with an A)
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (The Great [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m])
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ([name_m]Little[/name_m] Women)
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (Catcher in the [name_m]Rye[/name_m])
[name_u]Zooey[/name_u] ([name_f]Franny[/name_f] and [name_u]Zooey[/name_u]) ([name_u]Zooey[/name_u] was a male character, but the name would now be female)
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] (The [name_f]Divine[/name_f] Comedy by [name_m]Dante[/name_m])
I meant to do Scandanavian names as well, but I’ve run out of time. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
I like [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] and…
For a girl: [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (my favorite from the [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Wimsey books) , [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] ([name_u]Alcott[/name_u]), and the new favorite here, [name_f]Djuna[/name_f] (or [name_f]Juna[/name_f] since the D is silent)
For a boy: [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. Its a shame [name_m]Roman[/name_m] has been used already, I love it with your other names!
My faves:
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
@alphabetdem: I love [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]! [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] were considered before our son was born and I still love them.
@bonnielyn: [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] is lovely. Strong, feminine and retro. [name_f]Love[/name_f] it.
I’m waiting for more drop-in’s!
