[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!
I was thinking about what it is that leads a name to have a particular feel, or give off a particular vibe to me, and I think sometimes it comes down to word association.
By this, I mean names that give me specific images, vibes and feeling, not because of their actual meaning, but because they sound like a word or remind me of a word
As examples, these come to mind:
[name_f]Cherith[/name_f] → reminds me of cherish and therefore feels special, cosy, comforting
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] → reminds me of soul and solemn, and therefore feels like a serious, thoughtful name!
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] → reminds me of ‘sassy’ and therefore feels bold, lively and confident
[name_f]Embla[/name_f] → reminds me of ‘ember’ and reminds me of campfires, warmth and hope
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] → reminds me of ‘giddy’ and gives me lively vibes - intense, maybe studious, maybe active
[name_m]Kester[/name_m] → reminds me of kestrel, and feels elegant, outdoorsy and adventurous
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f] → reminds me of melody, and therefore feels musical, melodious and sweet
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] → reminds me of awesome, so it gives me cool, breezy vibes
So, what names give you particular vibes because they sound like words or remind you of a word? It doesn’t have to be an [name_f]English[/name_f] word - I’m just intrigued if anyone else gets this!!
Have a great day everyone
I’ve been calling them ‘word-adjacent-names’ in my head but not sure that quite fits.
