Names with a romantically bad meaning

You know, some names have a bad meaning but they are so poetic, gothic, and romantic in them. There is a difference between a name simply meaning “sorrows” and a name that mean “child of the tear drop”, “ill-fated star”, “destroyer of peace”, “dark river” or “eternal rival”. They might be bad but they are so interesting! What are some names like this? They give me such a Gothic Victorian or Dark Academic vibe.

I’m guessing you’ve got this one from your choices of meaning above but Desdemona is ‘ill-fated star’ or ‘ill-starred’ :sparkles:

[name_f]Desdemona[/name_f] is awesome! While I probably would not give a child a bad meaning, I find these meanings so fascinating and romantic and I personally wouldn’t hate to be a [name_f]Desdemona[/name_f], the sound is nice and also there is Shakespearean and the meaning sounds very Gothic and I like the vibe.

As a teenager I fully intended to use it as a middle name for my future daughter, have since decided that would be a bit dramatic  but it does have excellent gothic vibes

[name_f]Tisiphone[/name_f] means avenging murder which, I suppose, might distract from nurturing a romantic relationship.

[name_f]Perdita[/name_f] meaning “lost” comes to mind. It’s not exactly poetic since its only one word but there’s still something really haunting about it.
