All our children, unintentionally, have an O in the middle or their names and we’ve noticed 80% of the names we’ve been through for our girl share that trait.
It’s nothing we’re definitely going to stick with but I’d love to hear some suggestions of boy names that preferably have one in the middle of their names or start with them - just to see if something sticks.
To help give a sense of our style, here are the girl’s names we’ve discussed; [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], etc. Our son’s name is [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], NN [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. We do like names that allow for the use of diminutives too.
Boy’s names please! I gave examples of the the girl’s names on our lists as we are struggling with boy’s names. I don’t want to be too revealing so only gave our son’s name and girl’s name list to try and give an idea of our style.
Sorry, I should have clarified when writing it out like that but I thought people might guess with posting in the boy’s name forum - I guess some people do mistakenly post in the wrong forum though!
We have [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] as our final two ‘non O’ boy names lol, if that’s more helpful!
It really is! It wasn’t something I noticed until trying to test out what sounds right with our other children’s names. It’s probably silly but I feel like if four have it in common then so should the fifth (and final lol) If we don’t find a boy’s name we like then their names will probably be [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] & [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] (unless there is some obvious link between the two that we don’t know about!)
Thank you for all the suggestions everyone!
One name we love but won’t use is [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] as we’ve always tried to avoid matching initials with our children’s names. Another is [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] but [name_m]Dom[/name_m] reminds me of a boy I used to care for that was a bit of a handful! (he was always to be referred to as [name_m]Dom[/name_m]) and finally, [name_m]Elwood[/name_m] which is a little too out there where we live.
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] has stood out to us! It fits perfectly in with our style. [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] would be gorgeous too, I think!
I think so too. Thank you so much for the suggestion! His full name would be [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] ([name_m]Tige[/name_m]) which I have completely fallen in love with!
