So, I just discovered that [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] means ‘meadow of quivering aspens’ () so now I’m looking for names with other poetic, nature-y meanings: names like [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] which means ‘island of apples,’ or [name_u]Beckett[/name_u], which means ‘bee cottage’
Here’s my current (very short) list of names I’ve found:
[name_u]Adair[/name_u] (‘shallow place in a river near oaks’)
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] (‘west wind’)
[name_u]Julian[/name_u] (‘sky father’)
[name_f]Avonlea[/name_f] (‘river by a field’)
[name_u]Ellerby[/name_u] (‘elf guardian by the homestead’)
So, basically just names that sound like [name_u]Anne[/name_u] [name_u]Shirley[/name_u] wrote the meanings for
Does anyone know of any more names like these? TYA, Berries!
[name_f]Apricity[/name_f] is one I always like to mention. Her meaning is incredible: “the warmth of the sun in winter.” I think [name_u]Anne[/name_u] would approve with flying colors!
Chinese names always have awesome meanings, so I would check into that if you are able to use them (one of my favourites is Schutjä aka 舒竊).
