Names with Mimi and Mandy as nicknames?

We’re adopting a sibling group of 4. We have all the names settled except two. Our 2 year old has decided she needs to be called [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], which is fine but her given name isn’t one that generally has this as a nn option. So, we thought about choosing a new legal first name and she can continue being called [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] as she prefers. What are some out of the box names with this nn? We considered [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Dominica[/name_f].

We have a 7 year old whose legal name is [name_f]Mandy[/name_f]. We’ve given her the option to keep it, or help choose a first name and use [name_f]Mandy[/name_f] as her nn. None of us care for [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] as a first. [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] is out because that is the sister who wants to be called [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], lol! Any other out of the box ideas? We thought about [name_f]Samantha[/name_f]?

Names with a religious tone, or Catholic Saints names are big bonus points!

I’d keep [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] for [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]–it’s sweet! As for [name_f]Mandy[/name_f], I like [name_f]Samantha[/name_f], or [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] could work. [name_f]My[/name_f] only other idea is Normandy, but it seems a bit masculine. You could try a 2-part name…[name_f]Maria[/name_f]-[name_u]Andrea[/name_u]?

We definitely are considering keeping [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] for [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]…only hesitation is my husband’s brother has a daughter names [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], but since ours has the nn it’s not such a big deal. Especially since she came with that name and we didn’t pick it for her.

I always that that [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] was a really cool nn for [name_f]Miriam[/name_f]. I just always thought that.

[name_f]Mandy[/name_f]
[name_f]Amandine[/name_f]
[name_f]Amabel[/name_f]…bit of a stretch
[name_f]Emmanuelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Manuelle[/name_f]

[name_f]Mimi[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]

[name_f]Mimi[/name_f] & [name_f]Mandy[/name_f]

I was also going to suggest [name_f]Amandine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mandy[/name_f]. Or hmm…[name_f]Emmanuela[/name_f], [name_f]Domanique[/name_f], [name_f]Imani[/name_f], [name_f]Mandoline[/name_f], [name_u]Romany[/name_u], [name_f]Mazarine[/name_f], [name_f]Deanna[/name_f], [name_f]Marie[/name_f] [name_f]Nadia[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_f]Nadine[/name_f]

for [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] - Miriel, [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], [name_f]Minna[/name_f] Maebry, [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u], [name_f]Amina[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]

My daughter has the given name [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] but has always been known as [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]. Many other Amelias have now followed the trend. It is also a shortened form of [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Milli[/name_f].

[name_f]Mimi[/name_f] totally works as a nn for [name_f]Miranda[/name_f]. I think it’s perfect.

These could work for a fn for a [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] or a [name_u]Mandy[/name_u]
