Names with Y in them

This is probably a big no-no for most of you Nameberries but I want to conjure up a list of names with Y in them, whether it be their traditional spelling or a variant. [name_f]My[/name_f] reason being is that me and my sisters all have Y’s in our names due to my mum wanting to give it a ‘theme’ or whatever (my name is [name_f]Eryn[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Erin[/name_f]). This is just an idea and I may go ahead with this if I have children in the future, but I’m kinda skeptical as my favourite names look a bit odd with a Y replacing one of the letters (Arybella - hell no!)

So far I have:

[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]

Thanks for any ideas.

I will admit I’m not a fan of replacing an I with a Y
And from your list I like [name_f]Freya[/name_f]!
What about something like [name_f]Anya[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Layla[/name_f]

[name_f]Kathryn[/name_f]
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]

[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Tyra[/name_f]

[name_f]Enya[/name_f]
[name_f]Yasmin[/name_f]
[name_f]Taryn[/name_f]
[name_f]Macy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lacey[/name_f]

I’m really loving [name_f]Freya[/name_f]/Freyja. And I love the suggestion of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_u]Sky[/name_u]
And a bit more out there:
[name_u]Skylar[/name_u]/Skylark
Illyria
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]
[name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]

[name_u]Arya[/name_u]
[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_f]Aya[/name_f]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]

[name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]
[name_f]Yara[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]

[name_f]Lynna[/name_f]
[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacquelyn[/name_f]

[name_f]Sybil[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaya[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Alayna[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Arianwyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]

I love your list, minus [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f], as I went to high school with at least 6 of them, (various spellings).

[name_f]Edythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Milly[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisy[/name_f]/Maysie
[name_f]Hayley[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Layla[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]-[name_f]Ann[/name_f]/[name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f]

[name_f]Bryony[/name_f] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] are my favorite y names, since the y is already supposed to be there

If named that end with y count, [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] are lovely.

[name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
[name_f]Brooklynn[/name_f]

Thank you all! I’ve added [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] to my list (as well as a few others, some were already on there) but I can’t shake off a thing I saw on Tumblr which said ‘first things first’ and then a picture of [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] on Wikipedia… An [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] connection, haha.

Please keep these coming, I love them all so far.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]
[name_f]Yasmine[/name_f]

You know you can just use the super-search and look for girls names that include a y right?
NB has over 5,000 listed. Link here.

I mean don’t get me wrong a lot of them make my eyes hurt. But at least it would give you a long and comprehensive list to start with…

I actually have “y” issues… There are very few names I like a y in…Some are…
Loreley (this is actually how [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] was originally spelled… just search for the [name_m]Heinrich[/name_m] [name_m]Heine[/name_m] poem or look up the legend on a [name_m]German[/name_m] site).
[name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] (Oddly my favorite version of this name - maybe because it’s how one of my best friends spells her name)
Arietty
[name_f]Elysia[/name_f]
Illyria
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Sibyl[/name_f]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u] (though I find this more masculine than feminine - I just think of the pirate).
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f]
Lyonesse
[name_f]Olympia[/name_f]
[name_f]Joy[/name_f]

(okay that was more than I thought I’d come up with…).

[name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u] is another option

Oh, thank you! I was oblivious to the supersearch as I don’t really venture off the forums. I’ll look into this now and close this, thanks again!
