So I was just lamenting the vast number of gorgeous girl names that are off the table for us due to the fact that our siblings already gave them to their children. I thought maybe if everyone shared their “off the table” names, it would give others the opportunity to use some gems that you might not be able to use. Here are mine.

Your friends and family do have great taste! So far, none of our friends have really used any names we would have considered. I do love some of the names, they just wouldn’t fit our sibset. My uncle and aunt, on the other hand, named my cousins some pretty amazing names we probably would have considered, but honestly they may have influenced my taste in names in the first place.

Oooh, thrilled to see [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Apollo[/name]! [name]Apollo[/name] is a guilty pleasure name for me, and so is [name]Ptolemy[/name]. [name]Jesper[/name] is also interesting.
Another close friend is due in a month. I told her my favorite boy names and she told me they had (coincidentally) already settled on one of those names. I’m betting on [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Amias[/name], or [name]Milo[/name].
McKay and [name]Vienna[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are nice names, but I don’t think I would have used either of them even if my “in-laws” hadn’t.
However, a few that I’m sad to see go are [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Cassie[/name]. I think both are adorable and I would definitely consider them, but [name]Ivy[/name] is the name of my boyfriend’s brother’s dog and [name]Cassie[/name] is the name of an old cat of his too. Sad.
