Names you fell in love with unexpectedly

Does anybody have names they love but it is just so unexpected, you wouldn’t have ever thought you’d love it but now you do?
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and [name_m]August[/name_m] as well as [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] are a few of mine. [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] has become a top name for me over the years :purple_heart:

[name_f]Nairne[/name_f]. Thought it was just a crush last year but I would love to have one one day! Unlikely as we already have 2 agreed upon top 2 girl names but she’d be a contender for a 3rd daughter!

[name_f]Sheila[/name_f]
[name_m]Ashton[/name_m]
[name_f]Miley[/name_f]
[name_m]Micah[/name_m]

daniel :rabbit2::blueberries::evergreen_tree:

I was iffy on Dan, adored Danny, but despised Daniel… anyone who knows me well enough knows how that turned out :sunflower:and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Probably my spunky, sweet miss [name_m]Chase[/name_m] :rainbow:

She definitely wasn’t my style before, but now I can’t imagine my list without her!

[name_f]Willa[/name_f]! I didn’t really like this name, but I’m finding it so sweet right now!

[name_m]Theo[/name_m]! I never liked this name and one day my friend told me she’d see me having a little [name_m]Theo[/name_m] one day and I was like no way, I wouldn’t use that name but months later it became one of my favorites

[name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m] → can’t remember where I even got it from but I just love the clunky sounds and surname-y feel (but it also feels so different to some of my other favourites)

[name_m]Robin[/name_m] → I have a cousin with the name, and while I’ve only met them once, it felt off limits (especially as it’s close to the name of a cousin I know well) - then BBC Ghosts happened and now I love it.

[name_m]Roger[/name_m] → so clunky and old man and yet :person_shrugging:

[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] → I didn’t like it when I first heard it, but then it was the right name for a character of mine and now I love it

[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] → I’d always thought too associated with one book series and also 'like [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] but as appealing* but then I read [name_f]Villette[/name_f] and it totally changed my perspective

Funnily enough, [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. I always liked [name_m]Callum[/name_m] but could never figure out why I didn’t like [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]. I’d never met one but when I saw a character in a TV show named [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] and actually heard the name being said and used in context of a person, not just hypothetical/on paper - I loved it!

[name_f]Ruby[/name_f] / Rúbý - I remember I really disliked this name for a while. I blame [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] by The [name_m]Kaiser[/name_m] Chiefs for that :joy: Then I felt indifferent towards for a a long time. When I was pregnant with our daughter I suddenly fell head over heels in love with it. We didn’t end up using it, but it still has a place in my heart

[name_m]Zion[/name_m] / [name_m]Tzion[/name_m] - for the longest time my only associations were zionism (which I had a very unnuanced and frankly wrong opinion on at the time) and a very wishy washy, “spiritual” woman I knew who named her son [name_m]Zion[/name_m]. But recently it just clicked. Especially with the Hebrew pronunciation tsee-ON.

beatrice is my second-favourite girl name, and i used to be pretty indifferent about her! i remember seeing her on my long list and thinking ‘why do i have beatrice on my list? i don’t even like her.’ one day she just ‘clicked’ and i’ve seriously loved her ever since 🫶🏼

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - not a fan of common or classic names but lately I really love this name.
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] - I don’t typically like virtue names but [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] has been stuck in my head.
[name_f]Stevie[/name_f] - this name would be so cool on a girl ! but my signature style for girl names is long and romantic so I couldn’t really name my daughters [name_f]Serafina[/name_f], [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Stevie[/name_f].
[name_f]Esmarie[/name_f] - A made up combination of [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and [name_f]Marie[/name_f] but why do I really love this?
[name_m]Casey[/name_m]
[name_f]Charlotta[/name_f]
[name_f]Summer[/name_f]

Then for boys…
[name_m]Spencer[/name_m]
[name_m]Keanu[/name_m]
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]
[name_m]Theo[/name_m]
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]
[name_m]Emmett[/name_m]
[name_m]Kenai[/name_m]
[name_m]Laurie[/name_m]
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m]

[name_f]Anna[/name_f]!

I used to hate her with a passion because I felt it was too short and baby sounding, especially with the nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f].

But we all know how that turned out, and I’m so glad it turned out like it did.

It was the same situation for me ! I definitely think rereading A Series of Unfortunate Events helped; [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is so so lovely

Other than that, I used to dislike [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. Nowadays, I end up using them as middles in a lot of my combos !

[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] :ballet_shoes: :ribbon: :wilted_flower:

The sound of this was quirky and mysterious. The meaning is “violet flower” which I thought was neat… and then I realized that my character [name_f]Violet[/name_f], could still be [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]. haha little confusing.
