Okay, I need to vent for a minute. My neighbor has four gorgeous and very well named kids in my opinion:
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Locke[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Blair[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
and then yesterday she posts the name of her newest addition which was a baby girl and my mouth dropped open.
Drumroll…
[name]Aidan[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
Not only does the name totally go against her naming style completely but she picks the trendiest name “[name]Aidan[/name]” and it’s for a girl! I’m speechless.
I love the four oldest kids’ names. I don’t really object to [name]Aidan[/name] on a girl, and [name]Aidan[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is pretty. But it does go against the other names, and it is very popular…
[name]Aidan[/name] is a nice name, for a boy, before it and all it’s rhymes became so overplayed.
The other children’s names are positively lovely! Maybe one of the older kids was given the naming job this time?
my friend ( a girl, her name is [name]Ayden[/name]) it suits her, but her sibling’s names are also trendy, so they match. [name]One[/name] of my girls names is [name]Alexia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. I prefer over [name]Aidan[/name] for a girl.
Fingers crossed she will be known as [name]Grace[/name].
[name]Imagine[/name] being a girl called [name]Aidan[/name]? [name]Every[/name] time people would meet you they would double take that you’re actually not a guy.
I am going to play devil’s advocate and say that I kind of like it. That is, I love the sound of it. I know [name]Aiden[/name] is epidemic and it really clashes with the sib set" but if this name existed in a vacuum, I would be on board.
Is it weird that it bothers me more than [name]Nathaniel[/name] is the only kid without a 5-letter name?
I’ve met a girl named [name]Aidan[/name], at first I was a little surprised but I got used to it. [name]Aidan[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is very trendy considering her other kids’ names though, I admit.
It doesnt go with the others, but it is not horrible or anything. Brytnee or something would have made me gasp but even if its a very popular boys name, not awful.
My daughter’s name is [name]Aidan[/name]. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Looking at your sigs it looks like your kids have some weird goofy names.
[name]Aidan[/name] on a girl is awful imo. I’d be so unhappy as an [name]Aidan[/name] with older sisters [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name]. At least they have feminine names. I’d always feel like my parents wanted a boy. I’d definitely go by [name]Grace[/name].
