[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,
I’m wonder what are thoughts on a [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] as a part of our sibset
Older siblings are [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (Millie) [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] (Anna) and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (Ted)
Hubby suggested [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] which I adore but am concerned it can’t work with [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] called Anna/Sven
Probably would use tassie or sia possibly [name_f]Anya[/name_f] as nn
TIA
I love [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], and I think it works really well with your other childrens’ names. I also adore [name_f]Anya[/name_f] as a nickname, although it could be confused with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. Tassie and [name_f]Sia[/name_f] are lovely alternatives
I wouldn’t do it given that you already have a child who goes by [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
It gets annoying fast to answer to a call only to realize “not you, her!” (and this comes from someone whose name sounds not only like Mommy but also like first part of my mom’s name; it bugs me all the time that my parents didn’t think about that before naming me).
I think if you can avoid [name_f]Ana[/name_f] type nicknames (including [name_f]Anya[/name_f], which I think is just too close), it works really well with your set! [name_f]Sia[/name_f] would be super cool as a short form of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Anya[/name_f] would be too close for sisters for me, though.
I think that [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] fits in well w/your crew, but it’s just way too close to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] in my opinion. I wonder if you could do [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] as a nn? [name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_m]Ted[/name_m] & [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] would be really cute! You could always do [name_u]Stacy[/name_u], but that’s kind of dated.
I believe that people will automatically call [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] in school as a pet name so that is what she will learn to be called by. This will create confusion between [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]. With both names having “anna/ana” in it. If you are yelling your children could mistake the name for the other child.
Ps my brother and I have the same sound in our first names and it does get confusing when my mother is yelling for on of us. And the other one response. And she yells on you the other one. After awhile you might wish that you name one of your children something else
I think [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] works with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] and [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] feel like drastically different names to me despite the Ana/Anna connection
I know a few adult Anastasia’s who also have nicknames
[name_f]Tia[/name_f] and [name_u]Stacy[/name_u]
If it is a name that feels right and your family loves go for it !
I would be a little apprehensive knowing that your dog is [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] , and having an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] / [name_f]Sia[/name_f] / [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Anastasia/ [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] /Tasi the repetitive sounds , but lots of families have the same letter .
(Also I am constantly calling the wrong person in our house and my son, husband and dog all have drastically different names, so I feel like my last point is irrelevant)
I call the kids the wrong name already, and they have vastly different names so I can’t see it being anymore, well less likely that I’d mix up names if they were similar.
Thank you all for your advice, it’s given us apt to ponder
Instead of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], I would go with the name [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]. Similar vibes, but with no [name_f]Anna[/name_f] connection. You wouldn’t get to call her Tassie, but Tatiana’s obvious nn would be [name_f]Tati[/name_f], which I think is super cute! Plus, [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] sound like a really cool sibset
