Naming our Triplets...Bible Names? Family Names? Help!

We are “due” in November. Three little babies on the way!
And we have no clue what to name them…
We like the idea of using a family name…
But more so a biblical name…
Maybe both?
Also, we are not finding out the sexes of our babies…so tentatively with need 3 boys names, and 3 girls names that go well together…interchangeably.
Maybe Biblical names with family middle names?
Should we give them all the same initials? Or switched initials?
At such a loss here…
We don’t agree on any names…so don’t even have good options!

What about the possibility of unisex names? Are there any good biblical unisex names?

Congratulations! I’d recommend picking up a copy of [name]Linda[/name] and [name]Pam[/name]'s last print book Beyond [name]Ava[/name] & [name]Aiden[/name]. On page 199, there’s a great section on sibling names and gives very good suggestions on twins which would also work for triplets. It’s under the Store tab under books. You can check my signature as well for some guidelines that you could use when choosing to name your offspring. What’s some of the names within your family and spirituality that you’re considering using and why?

Shadrach, [name]Meshach[/name] & Abendigo? (sorry for misspellings, haven’t read the story for awhile)
or some combination of [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Mark[/name], [name]Luke[/name] & [name]John[/name]?

I think I’d choose [name]Samuel[/name], [name]David[/name] and [name]Levi[/name].

And for girls…Magdelana, [name]Keziah[/name], [name]Marguerite[/name], [name]Mariah[/name], [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Sara[/name], [name]Leah[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name]…and that’s about all I can think of that I like (except [name]Delilah[/name] and [name]Salome[/name])…women don’t come off so well in the Bible.

Pick a list of family names you like and a list of biblical names you like, then we can start pairing them. And congratulations!

You didn’t give us much to work with…

I’m not sure that many of your family names go well with the Biblical names, so I might just stick with Biblical names, or maybe variations of your family names?

Also, what do you think of these Biblical names?

[name]Abner[/name]
[name]Abram[/name]
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Clement[/name]
[name]Corban[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name] nn [name]Gabe[/name]

[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Candace[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Honor[/name]
[name]Hope[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Myra[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Tamar[/name]
[name]Zipporah[/name]

And one unisex name: [name]Shiloh[/name]!

Are you going for more traditional names, or are you wanting something a bit more daring?

I like daring, myself. What about:

[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Rufus[/name] [name]Johan[/name] or [name]Rufus[/name] [name]Kristopher[/name]
[name]Silas[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]

And for girls…

[name]Artemis[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Keturah[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]

If you’re after something more traditional, maybe

[name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Rafal[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Haven[/name]

[name]Joy[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Judith[/name]
[name]Rebekah[/name] [name]Louise[/name]

Any of those sounding close to what you’re looking for?

Oh, this is fun!

Boys:
[name]Johann[/name] [name]Leviticus[/name] (prn. yo-hawn)
[name]Alexander[/name] ([name]Xander[/name]) [name]Titus[/name]
[name]Silas[/name] [name]Malachi[/name]

Girls:
[name]Virginia[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucilla[/name] (I prefer [name]Lucilla[/name] to [name]Lucille[/name])
[name]Teegan[/name] Salomé

I know Salomé isn’t an ideal namesake, but I love the name. Think it’s beautiful and “pow.” If you don’t like Salomé, I would posit [name]Teegan[/name] [name]Keziah[/name]. These names don’t necessarily go together, there’s no rhyme or reason, but I think that’s a good thing, especially with twins/triplets. They’re so often seen as one entity instead of three separate people so I’d imagine having a unique name would make them feel more unique from their siblings.

Anyway, looking forward to what you decide. Congrats!

I introduced a few biblical girls names that weren’t on your list since they seemed to go better with most of the boys names you had.

Traditional: I think all of these would mesh really well.
[name]Abigail[/name] [name]Judith[/name]
[name]Esther[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Louise[/name]

[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Haven[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Rafal[/name]

More uncommon
[name]Neriah[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Esther[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] [name]Judith[/name]

[name]Elias[/name] [name]Rafal[/name]
[name]Gideon[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Johan[/name]

I agree, this is really fun from our perspective. Hopefully we are also helping you make a decision or two. For triplets, if you wanted them to share initials, I like the idea of using a circular roundabout method so that they all share an initial with a sibling (meaning baby #1 would be A.B. baby #2 would be B.C. and baby #3 would be C.A.) I’ve made a combo like that so you can see whether you like it and hopefully you can gain some inspiration from there. Forgive me, I am much better with boys names than girls. Congrats and good luck! =]

[name]Elijah[/name] [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Micah[/name] [name]Thomas[/name], and [name]Tobias[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]? Three spunky biblical boys names with a long-i sounds in common and family middles.

I am a big fan of family names for middle names. And I am a fan of Biblical names too! With multiples I tend to like it when they don’t have the same initials, but that’s just my opinion. My favorites from your list are:

[name]Silas[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]
[name]Titus[/name] [name]Kristofer[/name]
[name]Levi[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Malachi[/name] [name]Johan[/name]

[name]Eden[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Joy[/name] [name]Teegan[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]

To add a few more names not on your list:
[name]Ezra[/name] [name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Ezekiel[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Esther[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name] [name]Haven[/name]

Congrats!!

[name]Jude[/name], [name]Joel[/name] and [name]Job[/name]
[name]Ezra[/name], [name]Amos[/name] and [name]Rufus[/name]
[name]Seth[/name], [name]Joel[/name] and [name]Micah[/name]
[name]Gideon[/name], [name]Reuben[/name] and [name]Jonathan[/name]
[name]Tamar[/name], [name]Olive[/name] and boy [name]Silas[/name]
[name]Jude[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Jemima[/name]
[name]Eden[/name], [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Leah[/name], [name]Miriam[/name] and [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name], [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Simon[/name]
[name]Elias[/name], [name]Mary[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] (happiness)
Haven Maree, Skye Evangeline and Piper Lily

Girls
[name]Delilah[/name], [name]Esther[/name] and [name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name], [name]Esther[/name] and [name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Judith[/name], [name]Marian[/name] (form of [name]Mary[/name]) and [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name], [name]Virginia[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Isabelle[/name]

From your list I really like [name]Eden[/name] & [name]Olive[/name] for girls and I think they go well together. For boys I like [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Jethro[/name], [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Jeremiah[/name]. For your family names I would use them in the middle spot and would choose based on which family members it is most important to honor, more so than on sound and flow.
Best of luck with your three little bundles!

[name]Eden[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Olive[/name] [name]Judith[/name]
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Joy[/name] [name]Teegan[/name]
[name]Rachel[/name]??(maybe) [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]

[name]Micah[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Silas[/name] [name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Seth[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name] [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name] [name]Kristopher[/name]

Good luck!! And Congrats!!

[name]Levi[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Kristopher[/name]

[name]Eden[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Rebeca[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] (This is the way my first name is spelled and I love it)
[name]Leah[/name] [name]Teegan[/name]

I would go with biblical names for first then family names for middle. Ultimately, don’t feel pressured by family to choose a family name, while they are lovely choices, the names should be how you see your children, not how you family members saw theirs.

Good luck with your 3 blessings!

I like the combinations of:
Boys-
[name]Elias[/name] [name]Johan[/name]
[name]Seth[/name] [name]Eugene[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] (or [name]Levi[/name]) [name]Samuel[/name]

Girls-
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Neriah[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name]

I prefer [name]Elias[/name] to [name]Elijah[/name], it sounds nicer and is not as popular. I also prefer [name]Elias[/name] to [name]Lucas[/name]. Other alternatives to [name]Elijah[/name] that I like are [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Elliot[/name], [name]Elis[/name] and [name]Elian[/name]. [name]Levi[/name] is on my favourite list, and I also think Lot is a very cute name - but as a short version of [name]Lancelot[/name]. I absolutely love [name]Silas[/name], it’s really cute, and I think it ages well!

My favourites are [name]Levi[/name], [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name], because they just sound really nice together. They all go well with [name]Alexander[/name] as a middle name. I also think [name]Levi[/name] [name]Chuck[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Kristopher[/name] sounds alright.

Other biblical names I like are [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Caleb[/name] and [name]Noah[/name].

I love [name]Eden[/name], and I think it sounds cute with [name]Louise[/name] or [name]Lucille[/name] as middle name. Also [name]Judith[/name] [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Haven[/name] [name]Jemimah[/name].
