Hi there, I’m a longtime lurker on the nameberry forums and am so pleased it’s finally my turn! I’ve loved names for so long but now that it’s time to choose for real, I’m finding it really difficult to settle on anything. We are expecting twins in [name_f]September[/name_f] and are keeping the genders a surprise.
For boys, [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is a must-have first name as it’s really important to my husband, in honour of someone he was very close to. Could probably suggest either spelling - [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]/Lennard nn [name_m]Len[/name_m]/perhaps [name_m]Leo[/name_m]? (will be pronounced as [name_m]Lennard[/name_m]). To be honest I didn’t love it at first but it’s grown on me a lot and now it feels right. It’s just hard to find names that go well with it! Most of the boy names I liked years ago are a bit more ‘out there’ and don’t match at all. Loved [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u]/Lyle for a bit but not so sure if it will wear well? Another idea was [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] but I don’t think it really goes with [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]/Lennard. [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] was recently used by a close friend. So then I looked into more classic sounding names such as [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]George[/name_u] etc but would prefer something a bit more uncommon yet still familiar.
For girls, we really like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dee[/name_f]. Again, I’d love something that isn’t too popular.
Surname is one syllable so I’m trying to find 2-3 syllable first names … any suggestions would be really appreciated! Thank you!
