Nantucket

I have been thinking about this as an actual name lately. (no worries, I haven’t settled on it as a name entirely). But what do you all think? [name]Do[/name] you like it better for a girl or a boy? What are some nicknames that you can think of for either gender? Thank Y’all

Nantucket is a nice name for a place but it doesn’t work at all as a person’s name.

I am really not fond of Nantucket as a name, unless it has some sort of HUGE personal significance I wouldn’t use it. I would suggest [name]Tucker[/name] nn [name]Tuck[/name] as an alternative

Before you even consider using it as a name please Google ‘a man from Nantucket’ … There are many many limericks that about a man from nantucket and most of them are about his “manhood” because of that I would never consider using Nantucket as a name.

I would also caution against it’s use due to the “man from Nantucket”

I agree that there are too many inappropriate references for Nantucket to use it as an actual name.

Yeah, Nantucket really doesn’t work as a name at all.

I like my husbands rule of not using names of places or expensive items. lol
I don’t like it. If it’s something significant to you (like baby being conceived there), then maybe using as a middle name would work.

It rhymes with too many unfortunate things, and is, in my opinion, not the most fluid sounding or romantic of the name place names I’ve seen.
