Nastassia?

[name]Do[/name] you like the name [name]Nastassia[/name] pronounced Na-sta-sha??
I do! : ) any middle name suggestions?? thanks!

I think you may encounter spelling and pronunciation issues (I’d pronounce it nast-tah-zhuh), but I do think it’s pretty. I wonder about beginning a name with Nast, though, as it’s really close to nasty. Hmm… I’d personally stick with [name]Anastasia[/name] or [name]Natasha[/name], but that’s just me!

Good luck!

what about nastassia simone??
last name is one syllable.

[name]Don[/name]'t mean to be rude or hurtful, but I think you are dangerously close to ‘nasty ass’ with this one. Nathasia, [name]Natalia[/name], [name]Natasha[/name], etc would all be kinder versions of a lovely name.

Unfortunately, pronunciation will be an issue but if it’s worth it to you, then go for it. I prefer [name]Natasha[/name], personally, since it has much of the charm without the complications. Anyway, I love it combined with [name]Simone[/name]! I’m a big fan of [name]Simone[/name]…

[name]Love[/name] it!
Haha.

[name]Nastassia[/name] [name]Simone[/name]!

I love [name]Natasha[/name] more.

I like it pronounced Na-stah-zia, which is what I initially thought of when I saw the name, as [name]Jill[/name] also said. (Like a modified [name]Anastasia[/name].)
I would change the spelling to [name]Nastasha[/name] for ease of pronounciation, but this does bear a striking resemblance to ‘nasty’ and people would probably mis-read it as [name]Natasha[/name] most of the time.
Why not just opt for [name]Natasha[/name]? It is pretty, feminine but not flamboyant, cool, not overused, and offers plenty of mn options.

I absolutely love the name [name]Nastassia[/name] because it is mine! To pronounce the name correctly, and to not offend those christianed with said name, here goes: /na-stah-ci-ah/. I truly detest names that end with the sha sound-they are plain hideous. To even consider pronouncing [name]Nastassia[/name] as [name]Natasha[/name] is down right wrong!
Besides [name]Natasha[/name] is a russian nickname for [name]Natalia[/name]/[name]Natalie[/name], and refers to christmas. [name]Nastassia[/name] stems from [name]Anastasia[/name] which is a greek name meaning resurrection.

Mine too! [name_f]Imagine[/name_f] the years of having the name massacred by people that didn’t know any better despite me sounding it out! As an adult, I’ve learned to love my name (even more so when I found out the meaning), but feel it’s too stuffy for my personality. From childhood on, I was called [name_f]Tasha[/name_f] or [name_f]Natasha[/name_f], unless I was being formally introduced, and found out the meaning of those names as well. So I guess I’m clearly wrong in this case!

I’ve had the “nasty-a**” connotation mentioned once or twice, but I didn’t think much of them anyway.

[name_f]Nastassia[/name_f] is beautiful. I’d also say it na-stah-ci-ah, but as a tennis fan I’m pretty used to Slavic names. I like [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] or [name_f]Anastasiya[/name_f] better though, it looks more complete.

I love this name! I like it much more than [name_f]Natasha[/name_f]. Go with it!

I love the nas-tas-ee-uh pronunciation.

Prefer [name_f]Natasha[/name_f].

I would definitely avoid this. [name_f]Nastassia[/name_f] could easily become a few nastier names when she hits teen years, and pronunciation wouldn’t help. [name_f]Natasha[/name_f], [name_f]Natascha[/name_f], [name_f]Natashya[/name_f], [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], etc would all be less complicated.

This. Exactly.

Please do not do this to your child.
I grew up with a [name_f]Nastassia[/name_f] and virtually everyone called her Nasty before middle school.
She changed her named on roll call to [name_f]Tasha[/name_f] for her new school, but virtually everyone who knew her back then still refers to her as Nasty.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t do this to a child.

Stick to [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] or [name_f]Natasha[/name_f]

I have a cousin named [name_f]Nastasia[/name_f] and she loves it. It’s pronounced the same as [name_f]Nastassia[/name_f] (nuh-stah-see-uh) but without the extra s. We call her Stasi (stah-see) for short. She’s in her mid-late twenties. We just spoke recently about names, and she said she wasn’t bothered/teased much about her name. She frequently got comments on how beautiful her name was.

I would agree with most and avoid using two s’s. That spelling, naturally leads to the “nasty a**” connotation. However that phrase and the name sound nothing alike in my opinion. One has a long a sound and the other has a short a sound.

I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Natasha[/name_f] either (and I honestly don’t think it’s a good substitute for [name_f]Nastasia[/name_f]).

The bottom line, is I am completely for using [name_f]Nastasia[/name_f], but only if you use this spelling. If you use, the two s spelling, I’m not a fan at all. Good luck!
