[name]Nathan[/name] had always been my favourite boys name, up until I found [name]Nathaniel[/name] and I then fell in love! I do still love it but it’s only a middle name on my list right now.
I don’t know the gender of my baby yet but if it’s a boy we are most likely going with [name]Nathan[/name]. So I voted for [name]Nathan[/name] !
I like [name]Nathaniel[/name] but the rest of my family like [name]Nathan[/name]. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Nate[/name]. If we went for [name]Nathan[/name] I would only call him [name]Nate[/name], cause I prefer [name]Nate[/name]. My DH vetoed [name]Nathaniel[/name].
[name]Nathaniel[/name]. For some reason I don’t find [name]Nathan[/name] has the same quality.
[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Nathaniel[/name] because of [name]Nathaniel[/name] “[name]Nat[/name]” Herreshoff, yacht designer extraordinaire. But really don’t like the nn [name]Nate[/name], only [name]Nat[/name] or Than.
I would put [name]Nathaniel[/name] on the birth certificate and call him [name]Nate[/name] or [name]Nathan[/name]. That way he has three options to choose from when he matures.
I love [name]Nathaniel[/name], but I don’t like [name]Nathan[/name] at all. The latter sounds harsh and nasal to my ears.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] is my number one boys name atm.
[name]Nathan[/name] is mediocre in comparison.
I’d say if you have a 1 or 2 syllable surname go with [name]Nathaniel[/name]. If you have a 3 syllable surname go with [name]Nathan[/name].
I love [name]Nate[/name]!! I have [name]Nathan[/name] on my list solely for the NN [name]Nate[/name]. In general I think I prefer [name]Nathan[/name] so I voted for that.
My hubby and I had to choose between [name]Nathan[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] too… [name]Nathaniel[/name] won and is now in our top 2 for names for this LO.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] sounds distinguished to me and has multiple nn options. It’s interesting but not unheard of.
[name]Nathan[/name] is a nice name, but feels bland to me. Fwiw, I do not think [name]Nathan[/name] makes a great nn for [name]Nathaniel[/name] as the names have a different emphasis on the syllables and are two different names to me (also with two different biblical histories). A similar comparison to me is [name]Jeremy[/name] and [name]Jeremiah[/name]… two different names from the same root.
[name]Nathaniel[/name] I think i don’t like the strong thun ending in nathan. I love [name]Nate[/name] too!
