Nathaniel or Sebastian?

Our baby is due this week, and we’ve narrowed down our top boy names to:

  1. [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
  2. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

Some of our middle name options include [name_m]Osborn[/name_m], [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m] or Savage.

Help? Thoughts?

Many thanks in advance!

Moving this to the boys section.

And my answer is:

I love both names but I think I love [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] slightly more if only for the nickname [name_m]Bastian[/name_m]. [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] is awesome ([name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] is awesome too). [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] provides the normal name and [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] is very cool and musical. If you want him to have a more normal name all around, [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] is sweet.

I would advise against Savage. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it has some sort of literary or musical or whatever connection, unless it’s a really important family name, Savage just isn’t a pleasant word and I wouldn’t wish any child to be savage.

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. I absolutely love the nickname [name_m]Seb[/name_m] and think [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] is just perfect!

Thank you! This is very helpful. [name_m]George[/name_m], Savage and [name_m]Osborn[/name_m] are all family names. [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] is the only option that doesn’t have a strong family connection, but I do kind of love it. I don’t think we’d ever be so bold as to choose it for the first name, but I might be able to convince my husband to use it for the middle. Thanks again.
