FTM here! We just found out we are having a baby boy, and we are beyond excited and surprised. We had a handful of girl names picked out that we both liked, but we can’t agree on a single boy name.
We are both from [name_f]Russia[/name_f] and have a long and difficult last name that starts with “A” and ends with “nov” (14 letters long ).
We are looking for a simple, short name that flows well with it. So far we don’t hate these options:
What do you think? Any other suggestions? We would prefer his first name not be Russian, so [name_u]Nico[/name_u] (but not [name_m]Nicolai[/name_m]), [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (but not [name_m]Lev[/name_m]).
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] feels perfect with a complex last name to me. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is strong, simple, characterful and familiar all around the world.
[name_u]Nico[/name_u] also works really well, and is a little more unusual. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is a lovely classic, but less seamlessly international.
[name_u]Nico[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]-I love this! [name_u]Nico[/name_u] is not Russian, yet is has a European flair. Which is really cool. It’s simple yet not over done. It has a charming artsy feel, & works well on all ages.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]-I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. It’s cute & a little quirky. It’s getting sort of popular, but not way over popular.
[name_u]Stanley[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]-Meh, I don’t know. It seems a little dated & geeky. And not in a cute way. I guess its at least different.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]-I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. It’s handsome, has great vintage charm, & grows up well. It’s super duper popular though, if you think that will bother you.
