I’ve been back and forth with this one. I really want to use [name_u]Robin[/name_u] to honour both fathers as their middles are [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. But also my mother’s maiden name, [name_m]Robinson[/name_m].
I can’t seem to find a first name I love, which flows with [name_u]Robin[/name_u] in the middle.
I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. But feel [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is too, cute.
I don’t like popular names like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] or [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]. ([name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is also one of those popular names but I love it as it’s my great Grandad’s name. I’m just not sure it’s right to be used with [name_u]Robin[/name_u])
Names I like but can’t use with [name_u]Robin[/name_u] (mainly as they end in N):
I think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] works; it’s not too cutesy or too anything. From your list it seems like you like surname-names, a lot of which end in n. There are those that end in -er, the occupational names like [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_m]Wheeler[/name_m], etc. as well as ones like [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], [name_m]Wells[/name_m], and [name_m]Hughes[/name_m]. [name_m]Enoch[/name_m] is definitely an outlier, but I for one love it and old Hebrew names in general. I think a lot of those would pair well with [name_u]Robin[/name_u]. What about one that is a little more recognizable? [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_u]Micah[/name_u] [name_u]Robin[/name_u]?
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]!!! One that I’d dropped off my list at some point. [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] I like, but [name_u]Max[/name_u] is pretty popular in the UK, not necessarily a reason not to use it.
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] is one I hadn’t thought of before, but I really like the sound of [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u].
I’ve always liked [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] as my [name_u]Robin[/name_u]-in-the-middle combo, though it’s probably too popular (esp. in the UK). [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] sounds quite nice to me, too.
Other ideas (I tried to cast a wide net in term of style):
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] is coming up a lot and having nn [name_m]Wells[/name_m] is simply genius!
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] is now top of the list!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] a lot of the suggestions, especially:
[name_m]Merrick[/name_m] (not heard of before)
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] I have loved for a while with nn [name_m]Eric[/name_m]
A name I didn’t think I liked much, before seeing it suggested here with [name_u]Robin[/name_u], is [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]! It’s a name in the family too. [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] I really like. Though not keen on nns Malc, [name_m]Cole[/name_m], [name_u]Mal[/name_u]…
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] are big contenders.
My dog is called [name_m]Morris[/name_m]! My fave name in the world!
