Need a Girl's Name I LOVE!

My son’s name is [name_m]Abe[/name_m] (not [name_m]Abraham[/name_m], just [name_m]Abe[/name_m] and we’re now having a little girl in February. When I heard his name, I fell in love with it and knew it was his name. I’m just not having that same feeling with any girls names. We don’t have a particular style other than nothing too popular and nothing too off-the-wall and I just I want to name her what we’ll call her ie: [name_m]Abe[/name_m] not [name_m]Abraham[/name_m], [name_u]Allie[/name_u] not [name_u]Allison[/name_u] etc. Right now [name_u]Allie[/name_u] is one of our top contenders, but it seems a little too common. We’re also kicking around [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. It doesn’t have to be an “A” name, those just happen to be. I love the name [name_f]Leah[/name_f]-too popular, also [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] and [name_f]Monica[/name_f], but I can’t get my hubby on board with those! I’d love any suggestions!! Thanks in advance

[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] is one of my favorites right now, and [name_u]Allie[/name_u] as well. Not short for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]-[name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. [name_u]Allie[/name_u]'s popularity ranking is #200. Certainly not too popular, but most [name_u]Allie[/name_u]'s are derived from [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], and [name_u]Allison[/name_u]. However, I love [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]-but that seems to be full of nickname treasures, which, probably isn’t your type of thing.
Anyways, [name_u]Allie[/name_u], just [name_u]Allie[/name_u] is adorable and pretty. [name_u]Allie[/name_u] and [name_m]Abe[/name_m] sound great together. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is #35, so it is really popular. It is also classic, pretty, and a safe option in terms of its simplicity.
[name_f]Annie[/name_f] is also adorable. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is #377, if you like [name_f]Annie[/name_f] at all. Less common than [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
I love [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] most of all the names you mentioned.
Second runner up is [name_u]Allie[/name_u], and third place would have to go to [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
Here are some suggestions of names you may like and * means it is one of my favorites as well:

  • [name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], [name_f]Monica[/name_f], [name_f]Leah/name_f-
    [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]

I think [name_f]Ally[/name_f]/[name_u]Allie[/name_u] is very popular. The names [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and [name_u]Allison[/name_u] where very popular when I was growing up. I think [name_u]Allie[/name_u] maybe falling in popularity, but it was even more popular earlier which is neither a good or bad thing.
I like the previous poster’s suggestions of [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Hallie[/name_f], [name_f]Jill[/name_f], and [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. In general I prefer formal names and nicknames. Here are names I think you could like/love:
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (since you said you liked [name_f]Leah[/name_f]; I though I would put a lot of L names on here.)

Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

[name_m]Abe[/name_m] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] was the first pairing that came to mind. Some other possibilities:

[name_m]Abe[/name_m] and

[name_m]Abe[/name_m] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f] seems like an adorable sib-set

[name_m]Abe[/name_m] &…

Wow! Lots of great suggestions, ladies! Thanks
[name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]?

[name_f]Bethany[/name_f] ([name_f]Beth[/name_f])

[name_f]Carly[/name_f] (I like-hubby doesn’t)
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] (I love, but it doesn’t go well with our last name)

All of you were definitley on the right track! Thanks!

Oh the 4 in the middle are the ones I never thought of that I added to the list! I couldn’t type as fast as my brain was going

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is pronounced Lie-ruh

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is pronounced lie [name_m]Ra[/name_m], kind of like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] with an R. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] is in the #182 in the USA with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is currently not in the top 1000, so it’s more rare.

I like [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], [name_f]Leah[/name_f], and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] best of the names you mentioned. Some of my suggestions:
[name_f]Casie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u] or Joon
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]- no nicknames
[name_f]Gail[/name_f] (adorable mn)
and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]

[name_m]Abe[/name_m] is really a great name! I too think [name_u]Allie[/name_u] is very common right now, but it is adorable as a sibset with [name_m]Abe[/name_m]. I can share some of my favorites and their variations that fit well.

I’ve also been thinking about [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] and Eisley. Thoughts??
