Need a middle name for North!

We’re expecting a boy in a month and we love the name [name]North[/name]. However, we are having a hard time coming up with a middle name for this little guy! With a last name like Burnham, possibly a 3-syllable MN might work well? Having a problem with the flow…
You baby-namers who are good at name combinations, share your skills and give me some ideas!

[name]North[/name] is very cool! I agree, you need a 3 (or more) syllable middle to balance out the shortness of [name]North[/name]. My go-to 3-syllable middle is [name]Alexander[/name]. It sounds clean and flows well with most first syllable middles. [name]North[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] Burnham sounds great. It also balances out the unusualness of [name]North[/name]. Other ideas:

[name]North[/name] [name]Nathaniel[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Dominic[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Evander[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Bartholomew[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Matthias[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Augustus[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Sylvester[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Atticus[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Jeremiah[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Nehemiah[/name]
[name]North[/name] [name]Lysander[/name]

There’s quite a range of names in there, so hopefully something will inspire you. [name]Hope[/name] that helps!

Congrats on your baby boy and nice name choice. Good luck finding the perfect middle name.

[name]North[/name] [name]Patrick[/name] Burnham *

[name]North[/name] [name]William[/name] Burhnam

Oh I really like a lot of those, especially [name]North[/name] [name]Everett[/name] and [name]North[/name] [name]Sullivan[/name]. (I love the name [name]Sullivan[/name] but my mother and husband don’t for some reason). The name [name]North[/name] [name]Evander[/name] sounds very mysterious and masculine.

What do you think of [name]North[/name] [name]Alden[/name]? ([name]Alden[/name] is an old Mayflower family name). Is it too short for a 1-syllable first name?

[name]Hi[/name], congrats on your baby. I think [name]North[/name] is an unusual but cool choice for a boy. Middle name [name]Alden[/name] has a similar sound with the “en” and and “ham” in your last name Burnham and are both two syllables so I don’t think it has the best flow. I think you should stick with a three or four-syllable middle name. Here are some suggestions. Sorry for any repeats.

Not a huge fan of [name]North[/name]. [name]Nor[/name] any non name word name. Why not use [name]North[/name] as a formal middle name eg [name]Henry[/name] [name]North[/name] (Insert Last Name) and then just call him [name]North[/name]. This way when he grows up he can chose which one to use.

^^I knew a [name]North[/name] growing up, and while the name does stand out in my memory, it never seemed a “weird” or “informal” name. [name]North[/name] is no more informal than [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Gray[/name], or [name]Clay[/name]-all surnames derived from words, that seem formal enough to me.

I like [name]North[/name]. I had both [name]Frost[/name] and [name]North[/name] on my big, giant master list but [name]Frost[/name] won out as the one unusual-word-as-name baby name.
