Need a name that goes with sibling Zoe!

I’m due in 6 weeks and we are getting down-to-the-wire in terms of choosing a baby name! We don’t know the baby’s sex, but feel confident about our boy’s selection ([name]Julian[/name]). We have a 2-year-old girl named [name]Zoe[/name] and are thinking of [name]Eliza[/name] for another girl… but is it funny to have two names with Z’s? Are [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] too similar to each other? Our last name is [name]Baker[/name].
Another thought for a girl’s name is [name]Sonia[/name] – though of course I wonder if [name]Sonia[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] are too similar sounding as well.
Please chime in!

I love [name]Eliza[/name], and personally don’t find it too matchy with [name]Zoe[/name]. Granted, both names have a Z sound, but [name]Zoe[/name] is two syllables and ends in a long E sound, while [name]Eliza[/name] is three syllables and has a different ending (not to mention a different beginning sound).

Because both [name]Sonia[/name] and [name]Zoe[/name] contain long O sounds at the beginning, I do personally think they’re too similar. (I hear [name]Zo[/name] and So, and I know I’d personally make a tongue twister out of their names when saying them aloud. I can hear myself saying, "Soe and [name]Zonia[/name].)

In case you’re still looking for ideas:

[name]Annabelle[/name] (a bit B heavy with [name]Baker[/name], though)
[name]Anna[/name] (I love A names paired with [name]Zoe[/name]…)
[name]Olivia[/name] (popular, but I think it works well with [name]Zoe[/name])
[name]Vivienne[/name] (means life, like [name]Zoe[/name])

Best wishes to you!

I think [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] are perfect together!

I don’t think [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] are too similar at all! The z’s come in different places, so it isn’t very noticeable, and I think make lovely names for sisters!

I also love the suggestion of [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Iris[/name].

Good luck!

Thanks to all of you! That is really helpful feedback… and much appreciated.

love [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Iris[/name], [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Cressida[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Elspeth[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Freya[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Jessamyn[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Olive[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Oona[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Vivika[/name]/[name]Viveca[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]

I love [name]Eliza[/name]! I also love [name]Jill[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Iris[/name].

Two other names that are Greek in origin like [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] are [name]Nora[/name] and [name]Thea[/name]

I do feel that the ‘z’ is a problem in this sibset. My suggestion is [name]Stephanie[/name] it would make a lovely name for your daughter.

[name]Stephanie[/name], [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Julian[/name]. I think that this is a particularly nice sibset.

[name]Stephanie[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Baker[/name]

I think [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] are really lovely. There is no problems with the z’s.

If in doubt though what about:

[name]Zoe[/name] was one of our names that we liked.
I see mintie suggested [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] (my daughter) and thought I’d also suggest my other daughters name too…[name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Kira[/name].

I love [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] together. Good luck!
