Need advice on double middle name for Lexi

We are naming our daughter [name_u]Lexi[/name_u]. We have selected this “L” name to honor my husband’s mother who passed away and also had a name that started with the letter L. For the middle name, we are using a double name because I was very close with both of my grandmothers who also passed away. Because this will likely be my only child due to my age, I probably will not have another chance to name a baby and this is why I want to use the double middle name. But it has been tricky. I would welcome and appreciate your opinions on whether or not to hyphenate the middle name. I am not sure what the modern way of doing this might be or what other people have done who might have used a double middle name. Although less convenient, the advantage of the hyphenated middle name is it allows people to understand where the first name ends ([name_u]Lexi[/name_u]) and where the middle name begins. Without the hyphen they might think her first name is the double name. I am not sure which way flows better and is more visually pleasing. Also, which middle name do you think sounds best going first?

[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f]-[name_u]Rae[/name_u] (with hyphen)
[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] ( no hyphen)
[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]-[name_f]Maya[/name_f] (with hyphen)
[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] (no hyphen)

[name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] - no hyphen. that is beautiful!

I would definitely go with [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]. I’m not really a fan of hyphens in names.

I also like [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] best! I think [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] is such a pretty middle name combo.

Thank you! This feedback is really helpful and confirms what I always felt. I have always preferred [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] in that order, with no hyphen. I guess I started to doubt myself because the Internet can create doubt. I found some posts that totally bashed the name [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] saying things like, “it sounds like a stripper or a porn star name, it is a classless name, it is improper to use it as a formal name because it should be only as a nickname, we should use a more proper name like [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] or [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], she will hate the name when she grows up” etc. I was literally stunned by how many people seemed to hate the name and then I started doubting everything. But my husband and I discussed it and we always came back to the name [name_u]Lexi[/name_u]. We just think it is so pretty and it satisfies our need for a name that starts with the letter L. I really appreciate the opinions on the middle name order and dropping the hyphen. This was always my instinct but it helps to hear it from others

Another vote for [name_u]Lexi[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u].
