Okay, I have Abcde on my signature, but…
Well, okay. People [name_f]DO[/name_f] actually name their children this (I know, it sounds weird) and I do like the pronunciation ([name_m]Ab[/name_m]-suh-dee) but the a-b-c-d-e spelling throws me off of it a bit. I love it enough to include it in my top names, but it really doesn’t seem usable to me. Would a different spelling such as Absidee, Abcidee, Abcede, Absidy, make it look more conventional? Or is it completely unusable?

It sounds like “ab city” which I’m thinking is probably not the ideal imagery. I don’t think this is usable.

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] has a similar sound - would you consider that instead?

I know someone with that name! It’s a cute name I liked at one point, but I’d never really consider that one. But thanks!

Abcde or any variation of it is not at all usable.

I’m sorry to jump on the hate bandwagon here, but I’m thinking the same, ab city (lol) and rhapsody.

I can’t get over that people actually have named a child abcde. [name_m]Just[/name_m] like that. I actually find that quite mean.

I think you were on the right track finding a different spelling and trying to make it more presentable, and you can’t help what sounds good to your ears.

I think you should try finding similar names like [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] as one berry suggested.

There are lots of names out there!

Yeah, thanks for your opinion. I agree, that spelling is ludicrous and I’ve always been sure that if I actually did name a kid that they’d 95% hate it. It’s probably a good thing that there’s so many girl names to me that are beautiful. I have a much bigger list than what’s just on my signature. (Plus, my s/o isn’t even out of hs yet and we haven’t been together for a year yet so I have a LOT of time to come up with names and change my mind on stuffbefore I think about naming children lol
