Need expert help: Fell in love with a pronounciation, but how to spell the name?

It’s a bit of a long story. We both liked the name [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], but since it has become extremly populair and also is the name of my husbands best friend it had to go in the bin.
Then we came across a name that we both liked, but it turned out that we didn’t get the pronounciation right. So wel fell in love with the way how we would pronounce it and are now looking for a way to spell the name.

We are looking for a name that is pronounced as EE-lie or EE-lai (it’s kind of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] but then without the [name_m]AH[/name_m] and with a long e at the beginning.)
The name we thought was pronounced this way was Elye, but it turns out to be EHlay, and it kind of looks like a girls name on paper.

So… as you are the experts: is there a name that is pronounced Ee-lai/EE-lie, as in [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] without the [name_m]AH[/name_m], that looks like a good boys name.

(NB: [name_u]Elia[/name_u] doesnt work as it’s [name_m]Eli[/name_m]-a) Maybe [name_m]Eli[/name_m]? but it feels a bit to short…

It sounds like you are talking about the name [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. This is a well-known (or so I would have thought?) Biblical male name that is pronounced EE-lie. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] is the established spelling, so I would without a doubt use that.

[name_m]Eli[/name_m] is pronounced EE-lie. My fiance’s name is [name_m]Eli[/name_m] just [name_m]Eli[/name_m] not [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] or [name_u]Elias[/name_u] The length isn’t to important but thats just my opinion. He’s never had a problem with it being to short the only thing that could be annoying is that when he goes to the doctors or something sometimes they call him [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] kinda dumb if you ask me idk how they get [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] from [name_m]Eli[/name_m]

[name_m]Eli[/name_m] is the boys name pronounced as EE-lie, it’s often used as a nickname for [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] but is a name on it’s own too, [name_m]Eli[/name_m] is actually a biblical name in itself. I think this would be your best spelling for it as, at least where I’m from it’s a well known (but not well used) name so there shouldn’t really be many pronunciation or spelling issues with it.
