Need girls names that start with K

need girls names that start with a K

My favourites are [name]Katharine[/name], [name]Keziah[/name], and [name]Kelila[/name]. Honourable mention to [name]Kathleen[/name].

[name]Katharine[/name] - classic, historic, plenty of weight. The spelling [name]Katharine[/name] Hepburn had is the most appealing of the K-variations to me. Nice meaning. I do not like [name]Caitlin[/name] when spelled with a K, but I like [name]Katharine[/name], and its variations [name]Katia[/name]/[name]Katya[/name], [name]Kathleen[/name], and [name]Katerina[/name] with a K.

[name]Keziah[/name] - Biblical, pretty nature meaning. Unusual, which is a blessing and a curse. I would not say it’s anywhere near as “classic” in most people’s minds as [name]Katharine[/name], and I’d be braced for people wondering aloud if I’d made it up.

[name]Kelila[/name]/[name]Kelilah[/name] - A Hebrew name I like. The pronunciation is a little tricky for some people, (it doesn’t rhyme with [name]Delilah[/name]) and I’m not sure which spelling is better. But it has a nice meaning and an appealing sound. It seems to me that with the two L’s its on trend for what’s popular sound-wise, but it’s all but unheard of. I’ve been asked on Nameberry if it’s made up, it’s not. [name]Kaila[/name] (said like the ultra-popular [name]Kayla[/name]) is a historic diminutive of [name]Kelilah[/name] in Yiddish, but whereas I think [name]Kaila[/name]/[name]Kayla[/name] would be easier for many people to manage and say, many people think of [name]Kayla[/name] as a made-up, trendy name too.

[name]Kathleen[/name] - No longer popular amongst babies, a bit retro and [name]Betty[/name]-ish, but I like it and the nickname [name]Kay[/name]. Of course, you could call any of these names [name]Kay[/name], I guess. It has a '40s feel to me that I like. I wouldn’t expect it to confuse as many people as [name]Keziah[/name] or [name]Kelilah[/name] would either.

A couple of unique K names from the school where I teach are Kahina and Kyanne.

When I think of K names for girls, I immediately think of [name]Kiki[/name] (the most obvious K name!), and [name]Keiko[/name] (pronounced CAKE-o). I have a twin sister [name]Kelly[/name], so that does come to mind as well! I also like [name]Klara[/name].

I love [name]Keziah[/name]!

I struggle with K names because most people just change C names into K names and I really hate that, things like [name]Klara[/name], [name]Kadence[/name] just look wrong to me.

[name]Kelsey[/name]
Kailani
[name]Kimberley[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name]
[name]Kiersten[/name]
[name]Keira[/name]
[name]Kaia[/name]
[name]Kaya[/name]

I am not usually drawn to K names, but [name]Kira[/name] is pretty and easily pronounced in most countries & doesn’t have that Kardassian feel to it imo. [name]Kiki[/name] is pretty cute, too!

[name]Kaleigh[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Kinsley[/name]
[name]Kristen[/name] (my name:-)
[name]Katie[/name]
[name]Karina[/name]

Out of those mentioned, I love [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Keziah[/name], [name]Kaya[/name], [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Karina[/name]. I’m generally not a big K-fan, tend to prefer names beginning with C. But here are some more suggestions:

  • [name]Katrina[/name]
  • [name]Katerina[/name]
  • [name]Kendra[/name]
  • Kimbra
  • Kestrel

The only K- names I like are the ones that actually should start with K, not names that parents change the C- to a K-.

My favorite is [name]Katerina[/name]. Knowing nothing about your style, I will add [name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Kyra[/name] as pretty K- names. [name]Kimberly[/name] may seem dated right now because it was so highly favored in the 70s but it has a lovely sound. [name]Kimber[/name], [name]Kimberlyn[/name] are fresher variants. [name]Kay[/name] could also seem crisp at the moment. [name]Kendall[/name] and [name]Kellan[/name] are good unisex K- names. HTH!

Oh how could I leave out the fanciful, fun, old [name]Keturah[/name]! Along those lines, I’ll add [name]Keziah[/name] and [name]Kerensa[/name] : )

My favourite K names would be…

[name]Kathryn[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name] - beautiful, classic, and lots of great nns
[name]Kristen[/name]
[name]Katrina[/name]
[name]Keira[/name] - my absolute favourite K name - so cute and spunky!
[name]Kay[/name] - Simple but sweet

I agree with a lot of pp’s, I don’t like when C names are changed to K, so that cuts out a lot of current K options. I do like:

[name]Karin[/name]
Kateri
[name]Katerina[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Kaye[/name]
[name]Keziah[/name]
Kinneret
[name]Katja[/name]
Kjersten

[name]Kendall[/name] ([name]Kyndall[/name] <-- that’s how I spell my name)
Kingsley
Kaley
Kennedy
Kinsey
Kerbey (went to high school with a girl with this name)
Kara
Kia
