We just learned we’re having our 3rd boy. Our oldest’s name came easily to us, but our second one was very tough. Now that we have to come up with a third, we’re at a loss!
Our first two boys have names that both originate in the British Isles (first one Scottish, second one Irish, specifically), so this is a must for us for boy #3. Inadvertently, both of our first two boys follow the surname-as-given-name trend, so it’d be nice to continue this, although this is not a must. It would also be nice if it were a 2-syllable name, although this is highly flexible.
Some that come to mind are…

I LOVE [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. It was on our list last time, and we’ve brought it back for consideration this time, but my concern is that it might be one of those boys names that’s about to be more common for girls, like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]. When I mentioned that we were considering it last time, two people said they were also considering it, but for daughters. What do y’all think?
