Tough choice between [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]William[/name]. [name]Benjamin[/name] won by a hair!

I’d go with [name]William[/name] since you both seem to really like it and don’t have nickname issues with it.
I think that it’s classic enough not to seem weird with a [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name]

Also - is there any way to convince DH to consider [name]Nicholas[/name]? I only ask because I had no idea that [name]Colin[/name] was a form of [name]Nicholas[/name]. If I met a [name]Colin[/name] and a [name]Nicholas[/name] I would not even think twice about it.

I voted for [name]William[/name] since you seem to love it the most. I don’t think [name]William[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], and [name]Catherine[/name] are too much but I live in the US.

[name]William[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] would be a very handsome choice.

With [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name] I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Benjamin[/name]. ([name]Benjamin[/name] only the slightest bit more)
In all honesty all of your choices for both girls and boys can be made into great sibsets . . . I don’t see one name that would be out of place (MAYBE [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name] could be a bit rhymey, but even this seems fine to me).

Good luck!

Oh, in addition [name]William[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] seem more classic, conservative, and elegant to me - rather than “royal family”. I love this sibset!

I actually love all of the names! I voted for [name]Alexander[/name] though, because it’s my #1 boy’s name. I don’t think you should worry about nicknames too much though. I know so many people who end up with nicknames they never planned on or thought of. Good luck!

I chose [name]Sebastian[/name], but only because there was some doubt about the nickname for [name]Alexander[/name]. I [name]ADORE[/name] the nickname [name]Sasha[/name] for [name]Alexander[/name] so if he would be called that, then swap my vote.

I’m certainly trying, but he’s being rather stubborn about the whole thing. It’s funny, because you would think being a name nerd, it would be more a problem for me for cousins to have similar names. I admit I was a bit annoyed at first when I learned his nephew’s name (born before we even started dating), but I decided I loved [name]Nicholas[/name] enough not to let it bother me. Besides, I agree with you. [name]Nicholas[/name] and [name]Colin[/name] are about as similar as [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name], and it’s not like I want to use [name]Cole[/name] as a nickname. (I prefer [name]Nick[/name] or [name]Nico[/name].) But it just bugs him.

Anyway, thanks everyone for your thoughts. I’m glad to see nobody thinks [name]William[/name] is a problem with the possible sister names. That was my main worry, but I’m feeling a little more confident about making it our top choice.

Wow – great names!! I don’t see any problem with a [name]William[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name] sibset. I also see absolutely no problem with a [name]Nicholas[/name] having a cousin named [name]Colin[/name] – in my limited knowledge, I would never make a connection between those names, except that I love them both, especially [name]Nicholas[/name]!!! I don’t even know how to pick a favorite. I voted for [name]William[/name] because it was #1 on our list for our son (but we ended up not using it), but now that I think about it, I think my vote would be for [name]Nicholas[/name]. It’s a classic but not quite as common as [name]William[/name]. Whichever name you end up choosing, though, you will definitely have very well-named kids! Good luck!
