What are your thoughts on the name [name]Malloy[/name]? My husband hates it, but I love it. We’re trying to keep with the Scottish theme. Is it just me who likes this name? Our 2nd choice is [name]Talulla[/name]. Please help!
I like [name]Tallulah[/name] but [name]Malloy[/name]/Mulloy is a surname. [name]How[/name] about [name]Mallory[/name]?
Well, neither is Scottish. [name]Talulla[/name] in that spelling is Irish Gaelic, and [name]Malloy[/name] is an Irish surname.
I think of alloys (as in mixtures of metals), and Irish children’s books. Neither is a favorable or feminine association, sorry.
It would change the sound, but [name]Malloy[/name] is quite close to [name]Mallory[/name]-- what do you think of that?
Modern-sounding Scottish names:

[name]Lilias[/name]
[name]Rhona[/name]
[name]Arran[/name]
[name]Innes[/name]
[name]Kenna[/name]
[name]Morven[/name]
Seona
[name]Mallory[/name] is much nicer. [name]Malloy[/name] is very harsh and masculine sounding.
[name]Tallula/name is gorgeous.
To me, [name]Malloy[/name] looks like [name]Draco[/name] Malfoy crossed with metal alloy. Sorry! I agree that [name]Mallory[/name] is much nicer (and [name]Tallula/name for that matter).
Sounds too much like a cops name on a tv drama. I think [name]Mallory[/name] if great though.
