Need help with a girls/sisters name.

I have a 2 year old daughter named [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]. We aren’t finding out what we are having but we do have a boys name picked out so I just need suggestions for girls names. Our surname is Irish and begins with C…it rhymes with [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] so I don’t think -an ending names are good. I know [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] is an Irish name and our surname is Irish but I am open to other names that are not Irish. I believe the boys name we picked out is English. I like Scottish and [name_m]German[/name_m] names too. We like names that are not too popular or trendy. I just want to find a girls name that I like that will sound ok with a sister named [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]. Or does it really matter if the names go together? My brother and I certainly don’t have names that sound like they would go together but we both love our names! lol
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I dont think names really need to go together. I have four siblings, I have an unsual name, my brothers have semi-unusual names and my sisters have very popular names. The only time I think it is weird if only one kid is way off like [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], [name_u]Rylee[/name_u], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f]

Suggestions:
[name_f]Mallory[/name_f]
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_u]Ember[/name_u]

[name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear you say that! My husband thinks I’m spending too much time/energy on trying to find a name that “fits” instead of just spending time thinking about names I really like. I like your suggestion of [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. To me that sounds like a pretty name that I never would have thought of. I also like the name [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] but husband doesn’t. Thanks for these suggestions! I will take some time pondering them.

I wouldn’t worry too much about matching either. Sometimes I think very modern names and very classic name sound a little odd together but I don’t think there are too many names that sound bad with [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u].

Funny that the previous poster suggested [name_f]Mallory[/name_f], that was the first one I thought of for you too!

Some others I’d suggest are:

[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_u]Emory[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]

Good luck!

If you like [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] you might like:

[name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u]
[name_u]Shelby[/name_u]
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f]

I don’t think you should worry about names “going together”. [name_m]Just[/name_m] pick what you love!

Some suggestions, sorry for any repeats:

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] & [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be really cute or even [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] & [name_u]Cheyenne[/name_u]

I love suggestions of Malloryvand [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. Suggestions:

A lot of good suggestions, I don’t think you have to worry about “matching”. I used Edelweiss, so naming a second child [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] may be off, but I think with [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] you can any direction.

Sorry for repeats:
[name_f]Bree[/name_f] (I wouldn’t go with [name_f]Brianne[/name_f]/a because of your last name)
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]
Ailey
[name_f]Deidre[/name_f]
[name_f]Jana[/name_f]
[name_f]Megan[/name_f]
[name_f]Zaira[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Greer[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Lilith[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Makenna[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_f]Zanna[/name_f]

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you call [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] by her full name or does she go by [name_u]Cass[/name_u] or [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] most often? Because if she’s using a shortform primarily, then it might open up more options.

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Tierney[/name_u]

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Morgan[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Lane[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Drew[/name_u] (I think this would be really sweet!)

[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

My favourites are:

[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] and [name_u]Drew[/name_u]

I think it is important that names sound good together, but not necessarily have to match.
[name_u]Keeva[/name_u]- phonetic spelling of [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f], Irish and means “gentle, beautiful, precious”
[name_u]Laney[/name_u]/[name_u]Lanie[/name_u]/[name_f]Lainey[/name_f] instead of [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ireland[/name_f]

You have all given me such wonderful suggestions so thank you all! I’m not too big on using a nickname so we do call her by her full name, [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], but I don’t mind if other people develop nicknames for her. I just personally like saying her full name. So far no one else has shortened it but I’m sure friends in school will when she’s older. My husband and I thought we would use [name_u]Cass[/name_u] or [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] when we chose her name but we like calling her [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u].

Out of all these suggestions I’m feeling the most drawn to [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. I’m actually really loving the name a lot. My only concern is the meaning “temptress” and the mythological story behind it. We didn’t pick Cassidys name because of the meaning though. We chose it because we loved it. She certainly is “clever” but not curly haired. For her middle name we went with a more meaningful name so if we choose [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] I would find a middle name that has a significant meaning. My husband isn’t crazy about the meaning “temptress” for “his baby girl”. Lol. But we are really loving the name. It sounds so beautiful to us. Another name we stumbled upon is [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], which I do love the meaning of. I like the meaning of [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] more but I like the sounding of [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] more.
