Hello everyone! I am due in Feb. with my second boy. We have a 14 month old son named [name]Pete[/name] [name]Allen[/name]. We need help with our second little guy. We love familiar but not super common names. Some of the names that we like are:
[name]Sam[/name]
[name]Rex[/name]
[name]George[/name]
None of these names are as appealing as [name]Pete[/name] was for us.
We want a strong name and as my husband says “one you can hear over a loud speaker”.
These names that we like but are out because they are [name]Pete[/name] and new baby’s cousins:
[name]Max[/name]
[name]Hank[/name]
[name]Cal[/name]
[name]Gus[/name]
[name]Frank[/name]
Of the names that you listed, I like [name]George[/name] the best with [name]Pete[/name]. I think that [name]Sam[/name] will end up being more popular than you might have hoped, and [name]Rex[/name] is all dinosaur to me (though that probably has more to do with my obsessed 3 y.o. than anything!)
It seems like you’re drawn to shorter nickname names. Other ideas:
Is [name]Pete[/name]'s name [name]Peter[/name], or just [name]Pete[/name]? If it’s just [name]Pete[/name], I think I’d stick with a nickname as a first name for your next baby, too.
I can see [name]Pete[/name] with another classic nickname:
Some full names I can see with [name]Pete[/name] (in addition to the full names for the nicknames above):
[name]Andrew[/name]/[name]Drew[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name]/[name]Dan[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]/[name]Teddy[/name]
[name]Elias[/name] or [name]Elliot[/name]/[name]Eli[/name]
[name]Frank[/name]
[name]Hugh[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]/[name]Baz[/name] or [name]Seb[/name]
[name]Thomas[/name]/[name]Tom[/name]
[name]Victor[/name]/[name]Vic[/name]
[name]Vaughn[/name] (I can better see more of a classic with [name]Pete[/name], though)
Thank you to all three of you for your posts…
I found it interesting that all three of you picked [name]Fred[/name] ( I am going to see what my husband thinks of this one!)
Of the ones listed these are my favorites:
[name]Fred[/name]
[name]Tripp[/name]
[name]Nash[/name]
[name]Abe[/name] (this is one of my original favorites!)
[name]Vic[/name]
Yes, [name]Pete[/name] is just [name]Pete[/name]. We are more fond of the nicknames that can stand alone. I would greatly appreciate anymore input!!!
