need help with difficult last name

we have four weeks to go and not making much progress. DH has a somewhat difficult last name (starts with [name]Lin[/name], ends with -er) and we are having trouble avoiding names that rhyme or end in -en or -in or -er. should we just ignore that and go for it? names in contention are [name]Ivo[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Graham[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Quentin[/name] (family name). we are looking for something a little funky for the kiddo. any other names we should look at?

Is your last last name three syllables long, as in Lin___er, Or is it just like Linner?

If it has more than two syllables:

[name]Abbott[/name] (nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Reed[/name]

If it’s Linner:

[name]Abraham[/name] (nn [name]Bram[/name])
[name]Barnaby[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Maxfield[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name] (nn [name]Theo[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name])

(The longer names work with a longer last name, too.)

I think that names that don’t end in -er sound great with your last name.

From your list, I really like [name]Graham[/name] and [name]Ivo[/name] with your last name.

Good luck!

I love [name]Graham[/name]!

Ditto! And to me it seems like it would go with nicely with your last name (without actually knowing what it is : )

short and sweet! i like [name]Graham[/name] too but DH is not so into it :frowning: i will have to do more research on -ett names, those sound good too. thanks!
